Makes me wonder if the glowing hand thing is a link to Andraste and she's the one closing the rifts when you're the one supposedly doing it.
Maybe Andraste inhabits the inquisitor.
Like Raava in the Legend of Korra.

Maybe Andraste inhabits the inquisitor.

Dwarves and Dalish don't typically believe in the Maker, so it doesn't make sense that they'd force this upon the PC.
Maybe Andraste....inhabits the inquisitor.
Like Raava in the Legend of Korra.
I don't watch Korra, elaborate for me?

Eh, okay in that case I'll make it easier.
The Inquisitor merges with Andraste, which grant them that power.
Hah, imagine a qunari "Herald of Andraste".
Or not. The Inquisitor in the demo was human. Maybe that is one of the differences your race will make! People would readily believe a human to be the Herald of Andraste, but a Qunari? An elf? Or a Dwarf? Not likely.
I hope that's how it works. That would add an interesting layer...

Ahh, so like Piccolo and Nail, or Piccolo and Kami.

Yeah, I guess ![]()

Yup. Raava and Wan.Maybe Andraste inhabits the inquisitor.
Like Raava in the Legend of Korra.
In the depths of primordial time, a spirit of light fused with the soul of a human to create the first Avatar, Wan. That spirit is why the Avatars have continuity; when each dies, the spirit migrates to another being and keeps the cycle going.
So the idea(or one of them) is that Andraste uses The Inquisitor as sort of a host, Andraste playing a passive role(Inquisitor is the one in control), but when time comes to close Fade rifts, she steps in. Implication being a day might come when Andraste *expletive*s off?
i reallllllly dont think the being of light we see inquisitor reaching to was andraste.

Andraste's mom?
THE PLOT TWIST OF PLOT TWISTS
Hmm, Herald of Andraste.
If Andraste turned out to be Galactacus, the Inquisitor would get a lot cooler ![]()
At any rate, this whole Herald thing could simply be the Chantry's interpretation of the Inquisitor's ability, which might or might not have any basis in fact.
I am reminded of the game Arcanum, where your character is hailed as "The Living One" after surviving an event which matches an occurrence in prophecy. The Living One is supposed to be the reincarnation of an elf wizard who saved the world once, and it is said he would return again at a time of great need. Of course, you are not required to be a male character, or even an elf. Heck if you play a half-ogre the person telling you about the prophecy comments on how the gods must have a sense of humor. And of course the truth of the matter is a lot more complicated than it seems at first.
So anyway, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I dunno what that's all about, I just know about Korra.
I'm just throwing a theory out there since thats what EVERYONE is doing and gonna be continuing doing. hahaha
Same. I think it's a primordial spirit of sorts, but not Andraste.i reallllllly dont think the being of light we see inquisitor reaching to was andraste.
Religions will grow around The Inquisitor if the history books are tampered with, watch
Herald of Andraste? Yes, please. It helps my Inquisitor's branding. ![]()

That part was the best in the entire Avatar franchise.
On topic: Yeah, I'm afraid despite their advertising and promises, I think we are going to be working together with the Chantry whether we like it or not. There are just way too many clues pointing towards that kind of game. This time I think we'll neither be able to roleplay as an renegade or an anti-Chantry person.
I intend to play a Chantry-defying Kossith Mage and I just don't see that happening. I'm getting more and more concerned about my character once again railroaded into being a believer/supporter like Hawke. As you say, I just hope there's at least the option to express my stance on things. I don't want more Dialogue Wheel instances where the only options I have are "Let's go" and "Ready when you are".

Put it on a mug.
Maybe it'll be more like a paragon Shepard and Cerberus in ME2, where you can point out that you're only working with them because you have no choice?

When were you ever forced to flaunt some sort of Andrastianism as Hawke?
Did he make references to Andraste or the Maker occasionally? Sure. Everyone does that. Hell, Oghren refers to Andraste all the time, and he's a dwarf.
The funny thing about this uproar is that I can think of any number of times a Dalish Warden has the exact same lines referencing Andraste or the Maker that a human does - and no "I don't believe in that" response - and nobody flipped their lid over that.

Diplomatic Hawke use "may Andraste guide you" as a battle cry if I'm not mistaken. To me, that's a bit more than just referencing the maker occasionally. It wasn't a big deal, but still.
Hah, I never even considered religions when roleplaying my characters. I figured if they had a religion they believed in and practiced they just did it, but I never put much thought into it.
