It was very clearly a spirit that was reaching out to the Inquisitor (think spirit of justice from Origins), and people don't turn into spirits when they die. So I'm pretty sure that wasn't Andrastae.
"Herald of Andraste"?

Justice wasn't in Origins, it was Awakening, an expansion on Origins.

I'm not terribly worried about it. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities for your Inquisitor to go "uh dude I wasn't touched by Andraste, you're nuts"
Inquisitor : Cassandra, I know you have doubts about your faith.
Cassandra:This is personal , drop it.
Inquisitor: I have to tell you the truth about what happened.I saw...Andraste in the fade...She touched me.
Cassandra: *eyes full of hope*Is that true?
Inquisitor:Oh yeah! She put her hands all over me !I understand why the Maker picked her ,Andraste is a naughty naughty girl.Eh .Eh.
Cassandra headbutt the Inquisitor.

Pfft, She has nothing on Sauron or his Master, and Sauron was nothing but a corrupted little elf who got a big head.

Facing down against an enemy who taunts you about the nonexistence of the Maker while people call you Herald of Andraste does kind of imply you're in the Maker's corner, even if you're an iconoclast to the established Chantry.
Maybe the dialogue will change, depending on the race of the protagonist - Creators for the Dalish, Ancestors for the Dwarf, and I'm not certain what would apply for a potentially atheist Vashoth.

You mean with a heathen Dalish or an atheist Vashoth being viewed as a religious figure?
I'm for believing it, dismissing it, dismissing it until slowly believing it, and abusing it mercilessly.
Multiple playthroughs are fun.

It would be really nice if other Dalish (or even city elves) referred to Lavellans with some sort of title related to the Creators, and maybe dwarves spoke of Cadashes with the type of reverence usually reserved for a Paragon.

No, because blood magic won't be a specialization option for mages.
Thank god if true. I hated seeing Reaver and Blood Mage available in DA2, with no explanation on how you would learn these specializations.

I understand. I usually have one Canon play through. It sometimes changes depending on which character I become more attached to.

Not sure about the Dalish. I think it honestly depends on where they think that you got your power. Since, after seeing this trailer, the Mark is definitely spirit related.

I make whatever my first is canonical. I'll replay the game with them until I get just what I want.

Same. No matter how I try to change it up, most of mine end up being carbon copies of one another. They're all self-inserts for me lol

That's a good point. I wonder if most Dalish would have a problem with Solas, seeing how much time he spends in the Fade...

Probably not well. He appears to be a city elf, making him somewhat even more of an outsider.

Trying to be clever?
._.
A spirit during the age of creation, after the introduction of discord into arda though, he became a progenitor elf, its just simpler to recall the character as an elf.
Because that was what he was for recorded history.

Does he? I thought his origins were mostly shrouded in mystery, at this point?
