So now that Mass Effect 2 is ruined, what do you plan to play instead?

I usually spoil myself to a limited degree because some things I prefer to know about a game before playing it.

In particular, I spoiled myself with the companions as I wanted to know about their personalities and back round so I could contemplate ways to converse with them.

The Prothean/Collector spoiler however is bad...very very very bad.

Remember that part when you find out about what Sovereign really is? Imagine playing through Mass Effect 1 already knowing that.

This cannot be overlooked. The game is ruined.

For me the game is not ruined at all.  Actually to be honest that spoiler has me even more interested.  However, for me who the collectors are is really no surprise.  Many people have guessed that since they were first introduced.  The part that interests me is what they are doing.  There are a ton of questions I have about that which makes me want to play even more to see if they are answered.

Now, I haven't seen every single spoiler thread, so maybe it was spoiled even more than in what I saw.  However, what I saw has not reduced my interest in the game at all.  That said, I'll probably avoid the forums until I play the game now though.

Wish I could share the OP's loss of love for ME2, because come launch day, I'll probably faint from excitement before I can buy it.

ME2=Excellent Game.

Besides, my buddy told me the fricking ending to AC2 in conversation. Still loved the game though.

Lol my friend ruined Assassins creed 1 for me and so 2-3 years later i ruined Army of Two for him. Revenge is sooo sweet.

>_> Am I the only person who doesn't get that bothered by spoilers?

I mean its not like it sucks out all my enjoyment out of the game.

And usually spoilers lack personal context.

nope, I don't care myself.

I look at it like this;

I've watched a few streams off and and NONE of them have played anywhere close to how I did things in ME1..so it was like seeing a polor oppisite...

different choices in ME1, and choices made in ME2 CHANGE the outcome, and such...so unless you do 100% exactly the same as someone else things can still be very very different in the end.

I'm not going to be sharing what I've seen however, unless it's in private and someone asks firsts...

I may not understand this over the top obsession with spoilers ( games, movies etc) but I do respect it :)

The game wasn't spoiled, the only thing that was spoiled was the patented "Bioware twist" and if it turns out to be true it wasn't really a fantastic twist anyway, certainly not as good as KOTOR's.

"Remember that part when you find out about what Sovereign really is? Imagine playing through Mass Effect 1 already knowing that."

Uh, it wouldn't make any difference.

I'll be playing though ME2 multile times. Yeah, pirates suck, even more when they spam forums with spoilers though. But it won't ruin my enjoyment of the game.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the game Tuesday. :)

Don't let this whole spoiler thing bring you down. The devs said themselves that the core of the game is interacting with your squad, and i don't see any spoilers about the loyalty missions. The true value of a Bioware game is sucking you into an amazing new universe and exploring it, not the obvious good guys beat bad guys storyline.

Another good example is KOTOR, I first played that game years after it came out and by then I knew about the whole Darth Reven thing. That said it in no way impacted my experience and I still enjoyed every second of that game. ME2 will be amazing nothing can change that.

They are harvesting humans to build a human shaped REAPER ship.

Truth be told.  This sounds really stupid anyways.  A human shaped ship?  You mean like from Spaceballs?

The more I think about it, the less important the spoiler seems. It's just going to be in the last moments of the game. The vast majority of the game, and the biggest and most enjoyable will be the recruiting of your team.

Or maybe it's that ship that crazy pastor guy was talking about building from GTA:Vice City.

Game isn't really spoiled..there's more to the game then just the main story..like the characters individual stories and what not. Plus you are the one that dictates how your game turns out, so what the story from HIS choices spoiled it for you..really?

Edit: Had to fix something, was bothering me lol.

Yes I know that.  That's the part that I find very interesting and have lots of questions about.

Human shaped? Seriously? You stole the game so would you mind posting a pic of this human shaped ship?

Mass Effect is about building a crew. So no, for me the game is not spoiled, for it is the relations between shepard and his crew that are the crux of the game.

The book doesn't come out until July or something. How would they have read it already?

The "spoilers" are from the book's synopsis. http://masseffect.bi...m/market/books/

Two things

One: Watching something is far different than playing it. I watched the whole game of MGS4 because I never thought I would get to play it, and when I did it still made my heart race. Especially during that first boss fight....Image IPB

Two: If spoilers bother you, then why in god's holy hell did you click on them? They are pretty easy to avoid. Seeing as how people already have the game it seems like you would be smart enough to pay attention to thread titles

Edit: My bad, I saw this thread before I saw the spammers, but the same concept goes: reading about something is alot different from experiencing it. And I heard from another post (who I think has played the game but Im not sure) that they werent true. But still.....

I find the spoilers extremely hard to believe, based on everything I currently know. It seems like some sort of bull**** M. Night Shyamalan would write.
