So now that Mass Effect 2 is ruined, what do you plan to play instead?

Unconfirmed plot spoilers should not ruin your anticipation.

Okay, I've no idea what went down, but can anyone answer this; is everyone upset about the spoiler because its a spoiler? Or is it because the spoiler was a horrible story/storypoint?

No details please. I just like to know if I'm headed into a disappointment or not.

Both.

I've read the Bible a couple of times and have a pretty good fix on the ending but I still go back over it fairly often. :)

This is what it is for me; at least if its the so-called spoilers in certain thread titles.  I suppose it is possible, but as an eternal skeptic I'm doubtful.  Without some masterful waving of a Wand of Plot-Twisting, it just doesn't make much sense to me.  Possible?  Maybe.  Likely?  Eh.  I have enough "reasonable doubt" that I'm not worried about the so-called spoilers I saw.  Totally unconfirmed; still looking forward to the game.  And, even if true... still looking forward to the game.

I was greatly anticipating this game, but now that it has been spoiled I just cannot play it.

Fortunately there are tons of great games coming out so what do you plan to play instead?

No More Heroes 2 comes out the same day as Mass Effect 2 and unlike Mass Effect 2, No More Heroes 2 has NOT been spoiled...yet.

Also, Assassin's Creed II should be cool.  I plan to get it when it comes out for the PC.

If spoilage is so dangerous to your enjoyment of the game... really, it's just a game. Go see a therapist.

It's pretty damn lame to cry and complain about the game being spoiled and asking people ON A ME2 forum what other game their going to play. GTFO and STAY OUT!!! QQ

u shouldn't have looked for the spoilers then, I am definitely not spoiled and do not know too much about the game cuz I chose to avoid them. I'm not on some pirating website watching the game for hours to see what happens (not saying u are but thats an example). but you must have done some kind of searching to find stuff out and now its ruined because of it so you say? please, spare me.

The fact that trolls have entered any threads they can and spammed a "spoiler" ending was lost on you.

You would open up a thread for the Dr. Pepper DLC and be treated to spoilers.  Or the thread titles would be spoilers in all caps.  Just going near the forum was a hazard - then he got banned and came back when people thought it was safe again.

Not the fault of the posters here.  Hell, I don't even have ME2 preordered (or intend to play it in the near future) and I found it annoyingly offensive.

That's why I stop watching trailers and stop reading conspicuous threads in the forums once ME2 is close at hand. You're complaint is the equivalant of saying "I got a bunch of trojans and viruses on my computer, but all I did was click every single link on every webpage and popup". ME1 was the best game for me cuz I knew nothing about it whatsoever, so my first playthrough (although I didn't know what to do) it was the most surprising game I've played. ME2 will be as well, although I regret watching a few videos.

I assume the spoiler in question had to do with details of the games final mission....

Personally..I can't see how that could possibly spoil anything for me. I mean, whatever the details might be, I could probably guess close enough to them as it is as far as the ending is concerned based on what has been officially revealed about it. And none of that bothers me so...I think I can pretty much trust that the rest of the game would be just as enjoyable as well. I believe someone said near the beginning of the thread that it is not so much the destination but the journey. I'm inclined to agree with this, since that seems to be what BioWare largely made the game about; Player-unique experiences between start and finish.

Am I...wrong?

hey i did'nt watch the ending spoiler and some other bad spoilers .. even though i could access it and iam very crazy about this game but i can resist them coz it would reallly reallly ruin the experience for me. the launch trailer and the sci vs fi series really gave the knowledge abt the game that i wanted to have.. such as a little story abt miranda coz i was interested in starting a relationship with her so that she can be useful in the end.. so the day not so bloomy for me

If you let something like this spoil the game completely for you, you're just as much an idiot as the guy who put up the spoiler lol.

For me its about interacting with the ME universe and connecting with my team mates on an emotional level (becoming emotionaly engaged if you will) rather than being "blown away" by the **** predictable plot twist these games always seem to have. I'd much rather have the plot twist at the end spoiled than watch the first hour of gameplay online... I guess that just the way I am.

To be fair, if you were here this afternoon you did not have to be looking for spoilers at all to have run in to them repeatedly, as they were "innocently" slipped in to multiple threads, a few of which you wouldn't even recognize you were reading a spoiler until it was too late. It really pissed me off, and I think the whole thing could have easily been avoided (arranging to have one mod on at all times in shifts over the weekend before release, given that the internet is the way it is, was frankly a no brainer) but I'm not deterred or convinced anything I read is genuine. It would take an as yet undiscovered form of protective barrier to keep me from being on that line at midnight to pick my copy up.

i read the spoiler quite by accident. logged onto the forum, and there it was in all caps in a thread title.

obviously disappointing... however, it didn't ruin the game for me. after a few minutes i got over my disappointment and now i'm looking forward to learning more and finding out exactly how it all fits together.

Why are some people on top of their soap boxes complaining that spoilers aren't a big deal?.

Lots of people play for the plot. It's their own choice how they play and its a crying shame some idiots have ruined the experience for others.

Come on, it is quite a big deal.

People have a right to be pissed here so need to slag off the OP for reacting

Spoilers are all part of a games forum, no matter how big the 'don't post spoilers' sticky might be. Wishing otherwise won't change it, unless the forum moderators happen to have the speed of ninjas on crack in removing any spoiler post. If you're still on a game forum with less than 2 weeks to go until release, then you've only yourself to blame.

I have spoiled bits of the game for myself, but im still going to play it... you can't blame others if YOU spoil the game for yourself. I admit it was my fault that I spoiled the game for myself. The game still looks amazing.

I'm still going to be playing. If you ask me, there are plenty of spoilers out there right now, and I mean real spoilers. Anyways, I will still play if it is spoiled. Its the means to the end that counts, and anyways, not everyone is going to have the same ending.
