I hear everyone talking about the "Friendly Dragon" seen in the new trailer released at Gamescon.
If you haven't seen it, watch it, NOW, lol.
It gave the hype train an overload of fuel.
Anyway, you appear to be in the Fade, or somewhere that looks really similar to it, and a high dragon takes off of a ledge, and begins to fly at you, when a friendly dragon sweeps in and rams into the other dragon, causing them to go flying off to the side and thus probably saving your life.
Everyone assumes this is some sort of huge spoiler, as it shows that there are friendly dragons out there. Which would be a very interesting twist to the lore.
However, I disagree. I don't even that is a dragon that saves you.
Think: What saved your main character in the last two games, who can, by chance, also turn into a dragon?
Yep. She's back.
That is not a "Friendly Dragon"

Wasn't that before the Hero of Ferelden killed her? Maybe something changed when she "resurrected", who knows.
Hell. Maybe its Morrigan? LOL. That would be a huge plot twist.

It would make sense for it to be Morrigan, almost. She is a Shapeshifter, too. But something tells me Morrigan isn't exactly the same "thing" her Mother might be...

I wouldn't be surprised. She could have picked up the trick in the 10 years between Origins and Inquisition. Plenty of dragons to observe too.

My bet is on the dragon being Flemeth as well.

Interesting idea. I had always suspected Flemeth was working directly for or directly against the Big Bad. If it's the latter, then perhaps she'll be our Riorden this time.

So what about the "leaked" achivements? there was one that was called "tame the dragon", and in the vid, inq is really close to that dragon, and there is some blue stuff between them...so i think the dragon have something to do with that...could be wildly wrong though...(not stating that the achivements are facts, but it´s somehting to consider).

It could also be a territorial squabble, although I doubt it, as I seem to recall the lore saying high dragons don't get that big until they have nesting territory of their own. Unless someone's territory has been ruined by war and fade rifts...

Nah, 'tame the dragon' is the achievement you get for completing Dorian's romance.

Not a Dorian fan. Just the conductor on the gutter express. ![]()
Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see what the deal was with those two dragons.
Other theory: There are two old gods left: Night and Mystery. They are fighting each other for control of the world.

I wonder if it'll die? I doubt it can stand against whatever that dragon was. If you look closely it had 5 horns.

I wasn't aware of the dragon-training aspect. For some reason, I don't see it involving the taming of high dragons, but who knows.
Maybe if a captured egg was raised from a hatchling on up? That could take a very long time. High dragons just seem too intelligent and independent to be tamed, they apparently do the taming, as they "indoctrinate" these dragon cults into worshiping and protecting them, Something that cunning just doesn't seem tamable, in my opinion.
It would be interesting, though. A tamed dragon would likely add a lot of points towards the Power attribute of your Inquisition.

I think it's a given that Flemeth will make an appearance. Whether any of the Dragon we saw in the trailer were Flemeth remain to be seen.
