Still the most badass of the four. The only time anyone is better than her is Zaheer suffocating the Earth Queen.I'd prefer antagonists that aren't armless fruitcakes but that's me.

The person who did it wore the same armor and hood as the one Dalish guy we saw in the trailer. So I'm guessing it's either Felassan or another elven agent.Well, we did saw someone waterbend in the teailer

True, though them Red Templars, plus some demons will most likely be cannon fodder

Oh, yeah. Everytime I get the feeling that the Inquisition will become the SHIELD of Thedas. Super international organization with the cool gadgets, rare knowledge, information gathering and, of course, super agents. And the Inquisitor as the old Nick Fury from the comics. People who have seen only the movies tend to forget that he was in his origins a WWII veteran who was still kicking ass in SHIELD and directing from the front lines

Is Hugo Weaving the Red Skull?
I don't watch Garbage, so i didn't watch captain america.
Red Skull was a Bad ass who went toe to toe with Magneto with his fists, bullets and explosives and called him a censored before Magneto literally compressed the earth around him inward, using the metals within the crust to form a prison.
Not whatever...that movie turned him into.
Man that was probably the most bad ass fight ever featured in a comic...
this stuff makes me feel old.

Almost certainly. Felassan makes passing reference to his 'clan'. It seems likely there are several other Elves working for the Elder One. In addition to the Venatori, and maybe the Red Templars, and maybe some Grey Wardens/Corypheus. This dude gets around.

The Elder One was the most powerful and beautiful spirit created by the Maker who, in his conceit, rebelled against his Maker, causing the first demons to fall with him as he was cast down. He still seeks to make himself the Most High.
Where have I heard this before? ![]()

I disagree I think being able to talk the Elder One down would be the most unexpected and entertaining thing that you could put in a game. Having a big fight at the end with the villain and you win and he dies cursing you/swearing he'll be back then you get pat on the back by your friends..... that I find anticlimactic and boring. Every fantasy game does this and every time its the same thing.
Having Diplomacy actually be an option in a game would be mind blowing to me and definitely not anticlimactic at all.
I think the Elder One is so full of himself that diplomacy is not an option. And it would be pretty lame to manage to talk him down. A big fight against the bad guy is in every fantasy game because it works, all the game has led to that moment, that's why it's called the climax, everything will be decided there.
Have we forgotten about Mass Effect 3 ending? Bioware went for a twist of the plot twist with more twisting and the ending was a disaster (and they were rushed) you end up discussing cheap philosophy with a machine that can't even make its own decisions and is trying to deceive you and you can't even fight against it.
After all the chaos and destruction the big bad has caused being able to convince him of abandoning his ambition for world domination would be comedy gold, an ending taken from South Park or whatever. But it would be pretty shitty writing for a game like Dragon Age Inquisition.

I disagree with the idea that there must always be a boss fight. I think tricking the antagonist or setting things up in a way that you automatically win, should definitely be options. However, options mean they're optional. Those so inclined should be able to get their boss fight.I think the Elder One is so full of himself that diplomacy is not an option. And it would be pretty lame to manage to talk him down. A big fight against the bad guy is in every fantasy game because it works, all the game has led to that moment, that's why it's called the climax, everything will be decided there.

I fondly recall Planescape: Torment in this. Anyone could get the boss fight, but develop your intelligence, wisdom and charisma enough, and in the last chapter you'll be able to gain all the information necessary to resolve in ending without a fight in one of two possible ways.

That dalish elf certainly looks "dead" pale skin, bluish lips. Almost look like Cole.
I thought the Dalish looked alive, simply evil (or casting some kind of dangerous magic if he is an ally). And while I loved the Felassan character I very sincerely doubt he will appear (even as corpse being controlled) in DAI.

I think it's the terrible presence that attacked the elves and humans in the Brecilian Forest in ancient times, like the last Arcane Warrior said. And i think the line the statue say in Witch Hunt "The prison is breached. I see the encroaching darkness. The... the shadow will consume all..." is a key (Sandal said something similar in DA2). Whatever it is, I think it is imprisoned in the Black City (my theory is that is is and has always been a prison and the whole "Golden City of the Maker" is something the Chantry misunderstood) and I think it's from it that the Darkspawn taint comes from.
I think this is something completely new that we haven't seen before. The Formless one seam to weak IMO because the other ones in it's group were week and the book you destroy in DA2 was suppose to be able to summon all the forgotten ones.
