I wonder if the elder one is gonna send goons to Skyhold or if he is gonna visit personally.

I forgot to post here before but let this wash away my sin.
I am happy to finally find religion in Dragon Age with this one true god we can all believe in.
May we crush all his enemies! You know, if god is into that. Still not sure what he is into.
This is still a newer religion and not everyone knows the rules yet. But I know in my heart it's better than all the other dumb Dragon Age religions.
Perhaps he is some kind of ancient elven Sleeper. Personally, I'm hoping for some sort of Lovecraftian horror. The Cthulhu of Thedas, if you will.

The demon we see in the trailer (the one in the same scene as Hawke and unknown Warden) seems pretty Cthulhu like to me.
Not necessarily I think Buddha said the same thing once
However since diplomacy is suppose to be a valid option in the game I'm really hoping that there's some way to sit the Elder One down at the table and talk him out of his evil plans.
Just think about how unexpected and awesome that would be to beat the villain without 'beating' him?
Elder One "Bow before your new god and be spared"
*Several minutes of conversation with the Inquisitor*
Elder One "You know I think my request was a little too harsh but I still think that..."
*Several more minutes the Elder One and Inquisitor come out of the meeting room*Elder One "So I guess I'll be going now."
Leliana "What?"
Elder One "Yeah sorry about the whole war thing. It was a mistake on my part I'll just take my army of monsters back to the Fade now."
Anyone trying to do that should be immediately eaten by said creature.
It probally some thing that is trapped somewhere.
why i think that the dragon age demo
The elder one still come's for you for me for everyone The mage leader @ redcliff
and in the Enemy of Thedas trailer, More Pain this time the Elder one still comes

Indeed, the trailers seem to indicate that the Elder One is separated from Thedas (currently) in some fashion, but is working towards gaining entry to the 'real world'.
It could work for any of the mentioned theories:
Old God) Imprisoned by the Maker, deep under ground.
Elven Sleeper) Not present in the physical world beyond a wasted almost corpse, only exists in the Fade.
Spirit/Demon) Again only present in the Fade until he manages to break free into Thedas.

Couldn't agree more.
You know, people, worshipping an assh*le god doesn't get more appealing just because this one happens to be real...
With a voice like that, I can understand why the Elder One would feel entitled to some worships.

Don't forget option d) A new powerful entity that we haven't heard of until now sealed in a prison (the Black City?) thousands of years ago.
That's my theory! The terrible presence that killed all the humans and elves in Brecilian Forest in ancient times (that the Arcane Warrior in DA:O talked about) and the coming darkness breaking out of a prison that the statue in Witch Hunt and Sandal in DA2 talks about.Don't forget option d) A new powerful entity that we haven't heard of until now sealed in a prison (the Black City?) thousands of years ago.

Sure it does! Now when you call down your gods wrath on someone you know what you're getting into!
All hail the Elder One! All hail the holy Breach!
It could be, but I'm hoping its something we know (or at least have hints about). I'm not a big fan of big bad evil huys appearing out of the blue, it makes them seem less important. They just happened to appear now and were dealt with, a small blip on the radar of history. Something like an Old God on the other hand, is something that has been working towards this event for 1000 years, it adds more weight to the story.Don't forget option d) A new powerful entity that we haven't heard of until now sealed in a prison (the Black City?) thousands of years ago.

But the voice..... It's so epic! I for one would welcome our new God!
Then decapitate him while he isn't looking.

PC: The Elder One is Satan! I am the Maker!

I applaud this level of deception. Infiltrate-and-destroy would indeed be preferable to a big annoying boss fight. Now, if only knew if the Grand Admiral is another infiltrator or if he's a real victim of the Elder One's propaganda ministry. ![]()

I think it's the fact that these Old Gods need love is why they're such jerkoffs in the first place.
At least the Maker isn't so needy.

Are you sure? The Maker abandoned Thedas twice because he wasn't getting much worship ![]()

That's cool though. He doesn't push the issue. He's like "Whatever. lol." Seems like the Old Gods were the type to require a lot more attention.. and sacrifice. Pushing people to extremes to "show how much they care".

That makes the idea of Andraste being the reincarnation of Dumat much funnier
The relationship dynamics would explain why the Maker did so many things for Andraste.
