Thank you, Bioware, for creating games with stories, characters and moments that were oozing with awesomesauce. No, I haven't liked every aspect of every game, but then that's not a prerequisite of being a fan, is it? I've held some criticism for the games and the company, even some points that have made me legitimately unhappy, but plenty of praise too. So many feels over the years. So many characters, conversations, memories that I've just absolutely adored. So, here I offer my sincere gratitude. Thank you.

PS No one that I've seen around here is 'blindly' doing anything. It is not illogical to thank the people who've created products we love. To like something despite it's flaws. Or even to enjoy what another might consider flawed. People have varying tastes, after all. It is, however, illogical to go into a simple thank you thread and bash (and continuously stating that we're sheep, drones, insinuating that we're in the wrong and questioning our motives IS bashing) people for thanking Bioware because we like what they've done, and look forward to what's coming. If you don't want to thank Bioware, fine. Whatever. But let us thank them in peace. You have a question you want answered... make a thread for it. Or take this as a reply, if you will: We feel that Bioware is deserving of our thanks, for any number of reasons. That is our opinion. One that you obviously do not share. There is no purpose to interrupting us stating our thanks. This isn't a discussion on why one should or should not thank them, it isn't a topic on if they are worthy of praise. A debate on what mistakes they've made, if they'll be repeated, ad nauseam. It is just a place to say thank you. With that in mind, if you aren't in this thread to give thanks, I'm sure you could find (or create) a more appropriate venue for the conversation you want to have.

Come on guys, I'm never one to shirk from a little back and forth but even I think this has gone for long enough. As it has been said multiple times, it's a thank you thread. We should all just take our wrist braces off, turn our hats back the right way around and hug.

Just discussing sales with Darth Krytie.

Just trying to understand why some people defend bioware so fiercly, even going as far as personal attacks as soon as someone posts an ounce of criticism. And I don't see the point in praising them over a game we've seen nothing of outside of fluffed marketing material made to get the game to look good.

The people here mostly seem like well-meaning individuals who are simply trying to show some measure of appreciation for what appears to be a considerable amount of work, effort, love, and time that the BW devs are investing into the creation of DA:I. And after trying to do nothing more than show a little support for the devs, in pop people who clearly have an axe to grind over the "betrayal" of the ME3 endings or their disappointment in DA2, people who seem like they still can't move on with their lives years after ME3's (and DA2's) release.

I, personally, agree with certain criticisms about DA2 (I didn't like the recycled environments) and ME3 (they could have done better with the execution of the original endings, but I liked the themes/concepts they intended to explore). Now despite agreeing with certain criticisms of past games, I've been called a drone and/or fangirl and/or blind sheep before in the ME3 forums, which is enough to start making me grind my teeth as soon as people start throwing those terms around just because they don't like the fact that not every fan shares the same grudges/resentment/general ill will that they do.

I mean, if you want to harp on DA2's or ME3's shortcomings, you can still go to those forums and vent for the rest of eternity if it suits you instead of crapping over a thread where people are just trying to be a TEENSY bit nice, pleasant, and supportive. Could DA:I be bad or have shortcomings? It certainly could fall short of what we've seen thus far and what we're expecting, but this thread doesn't concern what COULD happen with DA:I - it's solely about saying "thanks for the hard work you guys are doing right now."

Do feel free to crap over DA:I later if it sucks (I don't think it will, but hey, I could be wrong), but MAYBE you could just leave the nice people alone - just a thought there.

P.S. Thanks for your efforts, devs!

Why is it that when ever there's a positive thread like this it always attracts people who seemingly hate BW & all their games, it reminds me of the people who hate the romance content but then deliberately go in romance threads just so they can say how much they hate it, is strange

Anyway, thanks BW for what will probably be a big contender for game of the year <3

Bio-DRONE create a thread not related with ME3 camp and discusion forum which is celebrating hubris of BioWare, left unpunished...
Critic made a thread asking about something which doesn´t make a sense, or asking for answer from BioWare - get lock for breaking the law..

If such locking of "critical" threads is so typical, surely you can show me examples, right?  I'm willing to be convinced, here. You do realize that the quintessential critical thread for the ME3 endings, the "So we can't get the ending we want after all?" thread, went on for over a thousand pages before getting locked, and was locked because it devolved into 3-4 ITers talking to each other about unrelated stuff while everyone else had abandoned the thread. 3DandBeyond's "One Last Plea" thread similarly lasted well beyond its usefulness.

Based on your posts in this thread, I'm unsure whether you know the difference between a critical thread and a bashing thread.

Here are critical threads:

http://forum.bioware...r#entry11597312

http://forum.bioware...hl=screenwriter

Notice the tone of these threads. Arguments with supporting evidence, debate about the topic without thread derailment. Not locked.

I just spent 15 minutes looking for a thread locked due to criticism and couldn't find one, but I don't think you can sort by locked threads and also I suck at searching in general. Since the onus is on you to produce evidence of such behavior anyway, though, I'm happy letting you find them instead.
