Was that andraste in the trailer

That (silly thing) said she IS wearing the bucket-hat of the Divine on her head and, being totally frank, that seems to me a sign of how in this new game we will be closely associated with the Chantry wether we like it or not.
That said I hope to be proven wrong and it's entirely possible that, being the "dreams" of people what gives shape to the Fade, she is just a spirit trying to appear to us as good and holy as possible.
She could even be the Old One feeding us a poisoned candy. That, though, wouldn't explain why the Inquisitor is called "the Herald of Andraste".
P.S. Anyway guys, let's remember which spirits are considered the "best" ( and most difficult to corrupt) you can find in the Fade: the spirits of faith. So, even if that glowing lady ended up being Andraste and Justinia glued together with the Maker's tears, it would hardly be the first very theist thing in the franchise.

I hope not. The idea of the PC and Andraste meeting seems overly cheesy. We're already special because we have a glowing hand, we don't need to be the special chosen one of some prophet.

If Andraste is in the game I can't wait for the threads demanding she be made a LI in DLC.

There'll be just as many thread demanding being able to off her as well.
I agree completely.

She's the placeholder used to grab your hand and give it that much needed glow.

Why would people want to kill (for the second time) Andraste? It's not really her fault that some of her overzealous fans started a religion about her.

In my brief (active) existence, I've learned that people will want every character as an LI, and equally to be able to kill said character. I wouldn't worry about it

What i don't get is, by making andrastre real they have obliterated all mystery in the setting, the Maker is real, all other faiths are heretics and must be killed BORING. Leave us guessing, is it the maker? the mountain father? The elven pantheon? The old gods...nope maker, sorry our catholic expys are right, and we don't have any questions left.

They haven't confirmed it is Andraste. I assume the game will leave it ambiguous and you can decide for yourself. Even if it is Andraste, it doesn't necessarily mean the whole religion is right. The Chanters could have distorted Andraste's history like Fereldans distorted Flemeth's history.

Didn't the writers once say that they'd never say if the maker or andraste were real?

I don't think so. They may have said something about never commenting on the realness of the Maker. However, Andraste is real. That's never been a questionable issue. Her ashes are found in the game, there are spirits that remember her in the gauntlet. She is real...real enough you can take a sack full of her remains for fun and profit...or save Eamon if you really must...

After seeing Lady Insanity's dissection of the trailer I'm gonna jump to her belief that it's Divine Justinia, I'm easily led.
But nah srsly her points make more sense than it being Andraste.

anyway some people wud like nothing more than to kill her for being real and others wud like her guidance.
the first thing i wud ask her is why the hell did the maker run off bcoz some madmen worshipped dragons, he shud hav been more manly. He is a man right?

I think it's just some fade Spirit, nothing adventurous.
Maybe a Spirit of Faith. That seems plausible. Maybe it's THE Spirit of Faith we all know and love.

THE Spirit of Faith, as in, you know, the one related to THAT Circle Mage?
I'm pretty sure that Spirit is busy with whoever she is with.

Andraste is busy with whoever SHE is with, either. It's all very wonky Speculation as we have only several rather obscure Shots of that Thing and don't know Things beyond "it looks feminine" and "it seems to have a funny Hat".

Kinda realized. Just wanted to know if you mean the Spirit of Faith I think you mean.
Because I honestly don't know if there are more SoF's in the novels/comics.

Andraste or Flemeth.
We have already decided on the other thread that Flemeth is a Formless one :-)

I hereby decide different and say, Flemeth is a Dragon Abomination. Your Decision has officially been invalidated. I am very sorry.
*cough*
No, I'm not.

Exactly! It's just one of her forms.
