The new trailer shows a character wearing a Lion Helmet and it sounded a whole like Alistair. Did anyone pick up on this and has their been any confirmation that was indeed Alistair?

If you watch the trailer it is at 1:28 it sounded like Alistair making his war speech toward the end of Dragon Age Origins.

I still maintain that the person next to Hawke is Alistair. He is still a Grey Warden after all, even if he is King.

Are you sure that was Cullen at 1:28. He was wearing a mask.

Wrong hairdo. DA2 and DAO Alistair may have looked different, but they still had the same hair. He maintained that hairstyle in the comics too.

Why would Alistair be a spoiler though? Why be so hush about that particular warden being him?

They have no issue showing us other returning characters such as Cullen, Leliana, Morrigan, Hawke, etc. we know Alistair is going to be in DA:I, so why be so ambiguous about it being him on Twitter?

@FreshRevenge I believe it's been officially confirmed by devs that the guy in the lion mask is Cullen.

A lot seem convinced but white, blonde hair and Warden armor are about all they have in common and that's no convincing. I just don't see it.

nevermind it's Cullen. He was wearing the same outfit from the beginning of the trailer.

So is it true that we are going to be able to make up our Hawke and possibly Grey Warden if they return in the game. Obviously Hawke is back.

Hair is supposedly rendered wrong in DAI at the moment due to a bug that's being worked on. If you take that into account, that haircut comes pretty close to Alistair's "iconic" hair, and I find enough similarity in the features to make me think that just may be him, after getting the new engine treatment.

If that is true (not saying it isnt) then why not say as much? We know Alistair is making an appearance. It just doesn't make sense that they would be open about him being in the game and then remain silent on whether or not he is present in the game-- or his looks, considering we have seen other reoccurring people--including Hawke. Which is a pretty meaty spoiler.

That looks absolutely nothing like Alistair. I know people keep saying that, but if that's him, I'm already disappointed in his appearance. That looks nothing like Alistair. C'mon, guys. It went from being THE Warden > Anders > Alistair. There are more than just two blonde grey wardens in Thedas.

Well we know he's in the game since his VA had quite long recording session for it. Even then Alistair's presence wasn't officially confirmed, iirc. Why is anyone's guess, that's just how they seem to roll at the moment.

If the guy beside Hawke is Alisitair... Man, that sucks. Looks nothing like him. I understand a new engine and all but... Other returning characters looked ok.

It can't be Alistair! There's no way they'd make him look so different and have the exact same hair-style as Cullen!

Yes it seems like the usual coy bs of BioWare that this is the Awakenings warden or someone else we have no knowledge of.

I don't find it meaty. Its like chewing on a blade of grass. Yes there is Hawke but why? How? What happened?

I cant remember who recently said it but it has been said many times before and seen this all before. These trailers are put together to pretty much put together to fool us and invite wild speculation and that builds hype. Very little to no context (context is everything. Always everything and you should never make up your mind about anything with out having the full context) to what happens.

I already said I don't think that's Alistair but that is the Taint taking effect or his kid that's the important stuff right there and we don't have it. Its a tease and that's all.

Well, I think it's pretty meaty, considering since this game was first announced people having been asking about Hawke and the Warden. All about perspective, I suppose.

I completely agree about how they can be pretty coy and one should assume nothing, still I have a strong feeling its the Orlesian Warden-Commander. I believe this is no way Alistair and definitely not Anders. And if that is Alistair's son, he is a very robust twelve year old. Could I be wrong? Absolutely. It wouldn't be the first time, but until there is proof, there is speculation-- the juice that quenches the thirst of a long wait.

Why do people ask the same question when the answers were confirmed at E3?

Because not everyone are super fans like you and me who are glued to everything that bioware says and post.

It was no different with DA2 and the speculation of that's the Warden. I see the Warden, I want my Warden (headcannon and all) until this comes out and that is the Default FemHawke Nutella and Champions armor. That is the difference. The devs are coy until they slap you in the face and then they give the puppy dog eyes.

I am one of those that is aware this franchise has always been billed as "about the world not the protag you played" since that has been BioWare's line the whole time, so I have had little invested into what my Warden/Hawke did after the game. Walking into the sunset is perfectly fine with me.

No, it's definitely NOT Alistair purely judging by the guy's face.

Alistair has a very distinct handsome look to him. Not so, the Warden we see with Hawke.

i have to agree that i don't think the warden guy is alistair. but i have no idea.

its not really his hair that makes me think that. if alistair had hair like that now it wouldn't be that weird.

but his face. he just looks too young and small to me.

FemHawke looked exactly the same from DA:2 just obviously better featured because of the engine.

Besides people can kill Alistair, BioWare said they aren't resurrecting people anymore like what happened with Leliana and Anders, if they are dead; they are dead.

What if the warden survived though?
