Will there be another "Ostagar" scene and retreat, with you being the one calling for it as the Inquisitor?

We know that as the Inquisitor, it is our task to build up the Inquisition, save the world from itself, and that we are the person in charge. We can end conversations as we wish, send agents out to enforce our will, build and customize keeps, customize our soldiers armor and all sorts of cool stuff.

But I think it would be very interesting if we had a situation where we had to plan a huge battle and in a sort of mini-game style, choose where we position our troops, say we're defending a keep from mages or templars based on which group we sided with, and we have to choose not only where we as the Inquisitor will make our stand, but how to choose where which troops go where.

And if we chose poorly, or if we, say, put Varric in charge of an area he can't handle and that area is lost, we would have the option to call for a retreat to try and save as many soldiers as possible to try and retake that same keep later.

I think that would be a fun dynamic to the game.

Sure, all of that sounds good, but I have no idea how in depth the army mechanics will be... I've been in favor of this kind of mini-game for some time, but it might be reduced to events that take place offscreen, or at most, in cutscenes.  I still prefer this idea, however.

Just an idea I had, and I thought I would love it.

Or we can organize assaults on keeps taken from us, say we put Varic or Seras in charge of getting to the walls and taking out archers up there while we put Ironbull in charge of charging the gate while we sneak in through some caves or through the sewers, based on choices we make, with a bar showing how many soldiers we still have alive, and the tactical choices for the assault or defense requires us to retreat, press an attack, or so on based on how effective we are, strength of our overall attacking force at the start, and how fortified they've had time to become.

All I can really say is that I hope the "army" is more than part of the setting and that scenarios like this exist in the game.  If you've ever played the game Suikoden, you should be familiar with the concept of controlling an army in addition to primarily leading a small unit of elite soldiers.  The Warhammer tabletop game might also be a good model for what I'm talking about...  I'd be interesting in a similar mode that provides a break from the usual small group mechanics.  It probably won't be like that, but it could be fun.
