This video retrospective re-examines the third game in light of all its DLC and the context of the trilogy as a whole. It tries pretty hard to boil the complete 120+ hour experience down to two and a half.

I like this guy's approach, even if I disagree with some of the thing he said about Dragon Age. I'll watch it when I finish this playthrough of Awakening.

Watched a bit of it so far; get back to me in a year or two if you want to hear my thoughts on the whole thing. :) Honestly, I didn't think it was all that great. Most of the observations seem rather banal: Planet exploration in ME1 involves a lot of similar-looking environments? Who knew? Similarly, what the maker of that video says about the P/R system is mostly obvious, and when not obvious, wrong (there actually are a fair amount of renegade decisions that really are just about being as sociopathic as possible, like the renegade resolution to the Anoleis situation, punching Khalisah Bint Sinan Al-Jilani, etc.). So apologies to the OP, but I didn't really find it all that helpful.

Sorry for making a post without spending 2.5 hours to watch the video.  Disregard everything below if it is a requiremenet for having an opinion.

If one needs to spend 2.5 hours explaining to a player as to why the ending makes sense, the ending is not done right.  After pouring 100+ hours of gameplay into the trilogy, the ending should make sense to me, or at least it should not entice desire to punch walls and punt puppies.  I have not picked up the trilogy until well after all the spoilers and rage were out.  I knew the general gist of the ME3's ending before I started ME1.  And still going through it (EC and all) made me...less than happy.

Me too. Is TL;DW a thing?

I suppose there's an audience for this stuff, but I've never understood why a 2-hour video is superior to just presenting the argument in text.

I watched most of it, and it is fairly well structured and thought out.  However, we still get down to one thing, as I stated in another thread...

You can't sugar-coat a dogfart.  All you can do is run through it, grab the potpourri and open the windows.

Maybe Bioware will learn.  Maybe they will even learn how to end a trilogy - not just one or two games.  But I'm not forgetting the hype, and the lies.  I will remain on the fence, not preordering anything from them ever again.  The completely depressing miasma of ME3 as well as the rancid dogfart ending(s) ruined the series for me.

I will watch from a distance and see if they can recapture the magic.
