Surely even a Bond villain speech would need to be tailored to the appropriate audience? It wouldn't be good posturing otherwise. Taunting someone who doesn't believe in the Maker that the Maker doesn't exist would have little impact. Bond villains don't say "I expect you to die, Mr Bond" to anyone other than James Bond.

Inquisitors who aren't Andrastian aren't going to care about his taunts regarding the Maker. It'd make no sense not to tailor it to the Inquisitor's background, at least if they're Dalish.

It also makes zero sense if the Inquisitor is Dwarf or Vashoth, but to be fair I think it's too early to speculate this scene and the big bad evil may taunt someone else who's Andrastian. That said if this scene is between the Inquisitor and the big bad then it'll be nice to see some recognition of cultural identity.

Guys, I'd like to point you to the possibility that this particular line might not be in the game. For all we know, the Elder One's entire speech - or parts of it - could have been recorded just for this trailer. It wouldn't be the first time.

What worries me is that in both the trailer and the gamescom gameplay footage the Inquisitor is refered to "the Herald of Andraste", or just the Herald. Wth?

A Herald could pretty much be used for anti Andraste too. So no worries.

Actually it does make sense to taunt someone using the tropes of his/her culture. Doing otherwise would make the taunt ineffective at best and funny at worst.

For all we know, he could be perched atop the Cathedral in Val Royeaux addressing the masses. Or atop the Temple of the Urn right before Go Time.
