Well calling not for those who spared avernus.
Who would have thought such a small choice will have a strong and personal impact to the Warden.

They're also not using your world state for their trailer, are they? "Your" Warden is alive, however BioWare's is dead. Therefore, if the Warden present represents a player character, in BioWare's canon it would be the Warden-Commander from Orlais. Perhaps, if your Warden is alive, he or she would appear instead.I'm not sure why everyone brings up that "the canon warden is dead" as a reasoning for why it wouldn't be your Warden.
If they're just going to use canon storylines then what is the point of the Keep? My Warden commander is not dead, unless something happened in the past ten years in game that we haven't been told about yet. If anything my guess is that is supposed to be Warden Alistair.

Avernus' treatment delays it, not stops it.

Remember it's a trailer. It's hardly going to represent your personal world state.
I'm still a little outraged that the Orlesian Warden is wearing armor at all. Mine walked around naked!
Avernus' treatment delays it, not stops it.
Well yep but delays it for at least couple centuries (2 in avernus case) i think pretty much having much bigger lifespan than normal humans leaves no problem with it as even if you aren't grey warden you would die much earlier.

Maybe it's just been too long, but I barely even remember what Avernus was doing, or what that random potion is that I decided to drink for the hell of it. xD
I'm starting to think that Warden is actually Carver, but the fact that he's blond makes me wonder. Maybe you can choose how Carver or Bethany looks as well if they were to appear in the game.
Or maybe he's Sebastian. I'm getting a really strong Seb vibe when I look at his face. It's not such a stretch that characters look different between games. BUT... the fact that he's wearing Warden's armor again makes me wonder. Or maybe Seb's joined the Wardens... maybe he broke down after Kirkwall. So much speculation... dayum, I can't wait to play this game!! PUMPED
Carver and Bethany always have dark hair. None of the pre-selects change that.
I said this elsewhere but: if Sebastian joined the Wardens, dyed his hair and switched classes between games, I will eat his shiny belt-buckle.
Maybe he's Anders, maybe he's Alistair, maybe Carver went to the hair salon, maybe he's a random new warden.
Yeah. I think it's the Orlesian Warden
But in my playthrough there was no Orlesian Warden, My Warden from DAO was the Warden Commander in the Awakenings expansion, that's the point.

I get that, but if they were using THEIR canon, then Hawke would have been a man, since canon Hawke is a male mage. Hawke in the trailer is clearly a woman, so it's obvious we have choices there at least.
ok, to answer the title of the thread:
If its not the warden, then who the f*ck is it, when we ask these questions to the devlopers, like is that our warden and they tell us no, where are the damn follow up questions? Dont just leave it out to dry.

My Theory on that Warden character they showed, when Bioware said that is not "THE" Warden from ORIGINS, I took that in a different way than just oh the warden is not in it. To me it means either
1. He is a character that will appear if your warden is dead and you didn't play Awakening
2. He is the Warden Commander from Awakening if you didn't import you Warden or the Warden died.
3. He may just be a new character who for some reason is important enough to join forces with Hawke and the Inquisitor
4. If your Warden is alive it will be them who shows up with Hawke to help the Inquisitor
That to me is what they meant when they said that is not "the" Warden from ORIGINS aka it could be the one from awakening or a character to take the warden's place if they are dead.

No, there is no confirmation that the default Hawke is male. Only that she/he is a mage
There's no direct mention of what gender Hawke is in the default
Seems like it's FemHawke. Unless they used her for trailer purposes.
fine with me Female Hawke > Male Hawke
Pretty sure canon Hawke is male, since canon Warden was female, but I guess we'll find out in the Keep.
Why do you all believe that this is the orlesian warden? I'm 99% sure that this is NOT the orlesian warden. It still would be "your" warden. And why does the canon matter? You would either have the origins-warden show up or the orlesian warden (if you did the ultimate sacrifice). They would have the same role in DA:I.
And furthermore: Why would Mike immediately confirm Hawke, but would actually deny the warden, if it would just be our "other" warden?
If the blond dude is not just a new NPC, my guess would be that he replaces Carver if he died in DA2
let people have there hope so it can be crushed when the game comes out

For mages. Avernis is only that old and lasted that long because of blood magic. We have yet to know how long a normal person would last with it.

I don't understand why the default world-state Warden being female means that the default world-state Hawke would be male - what makes you think that?

I guess people just expect them to mix and match, so I suppose that means the canon Inquisitor will be a rogue dwarf. xD

Exactly.

Oh you have to absolutely choose Avernus and take Oghren with you when you do.
I will eat his shiny belt-buckle.
(Persuasion) I'd pay a sovereign to see that.
