Clearly the big announcement is that bioware is the head of the ilimunati, who will be establishing the new world order on august 28th. Shadow realms does not exist, and its announcement is in fact a sign for the iluminati faithful to make their moves. They made DA2 and ME3's ending bad purely so they could laugh at gamer's reactions (all the while torturing puppies and kittens). On the plus side, they will force Gabe Newell to make HL3.

If it's multiplayer then someone at Bioware has a really short memory for how badly that goes over with their core audience.

Ohh wait, silly me. They lost their core audience after ME3. Carry on!

Me and my own short memory... :P

Could be the first announcement of SP dlc - which could be day one as both DAO and DA2 had it...

They confirmed last month that DAI will have no Day One DLC.

The core audience is not a hivemind. You may not like multiplayer but you should speak for yourself.

What?

MP was favorably received, by critics and fans alike. Not sure where you are getting at.

Some people still don't get that I don't want BioWare to get rid of Trevalyan just to replace him or her with Hawke. I suggested a bonus character to play as besides Trevalyan. Besides people wouldn't be forced to play as Hawke, they could start a fresh playthrough with Trevalyan if playing as a human is what they prefer. Having Hawke as an optional human inquisitor besides Trevalyan would just be for people who wanted to have more of Hawke after DA2 ended. Now if you're going to hate me just because of an option, go ahead BSN. -_-

I don't think anyone's hating you, but do you understand how unrealistic, even ridiculous, this request is?

Not just in terms of the cost of two extra voice actors (which blows the protagonist dialogue cost out by 50%), but the cost and time required to completely rewrite the entire game to reflect that the main character is now a totally different person.

Everyone will react differently to Hawke, they'd need totally different conversations with Varric and Cassandra and a bunch of other characters, the parts of the plot that require Hawke now won't make sense, and anything that was written for the Inquisitor as a unique new protagonist now needs to account for the fact that players could be somebody else.

How do you propose they integrate Hawke into the game when the game was built for the Inquisitor?

I don't think it's unreasonable that people either don't like your idea, or find it to be really silly.

I wouldn't go that far, but the combination of DA2 (Rushed, badly written), TOR (bastardization of an SP franchise), and ME3 (lacking endings, forced multiplayer, some questionable writing involving the Starkid) just managed to TKO a lot of fans.

*snips*

I hear you, I hear you... I'm just a fan of my Sarcastic Hawke and expected more of him. I'm one of the few gamers out there who really wish to play The Exalted March expansion.

I'm hoping DA2 gets closure, yep, but I think Hawke being playable is absolutely not the best way to do that.

Even as a temporary/bonus companion?

That will likely happen, but in the same way it happens with Leliana at the Redcliffe demo, as an uncontrollable bonus NPC.

I feel like whatever Hawke has to add to the story could likely be done just as effectively as an NPC or a PC, and having to design a playable section of the game around Hawke that's long enough to make the switch worth it would likely harm the game's overall pacing a great deal.

And having two main-hero caliber people in your party at once would also likely completely shatter any attempt at game balance.

It strikes me as one of those "cool in theory, unreasonable in practice" ideas.

Pretty much confirmed when they said EA Access will have access to a "part of the game we'll talk about at a later point"...

Cameron Lee just said on IGN's demo stream that the EA Access trial for DA:I (the one available five days before launch) will be a part of the game that they'll talk about later.

edit: lol whoops, ninja'd

So the "big announcement" is about a trial version of the game to Xbox One gamers?

No, people are thinking that the big announcement that's coming later this month is the same "part of the game" that Cameron said is the trial version on Xbox which they "will be talking about later."

Longsentencesorry.

I said a CHOICE, you're not forced to take it. If you're not going to contribute to what I said, fine. No need to be so arrogant about it.

Hmmm - not sure being brief and to the point is arrogance. I personally find No answers are intended to be funny.

On another note, I think multiplayer (not that I am into it) will be the announcement... unless plans for a DLC?????

The theory is that the big announcement will be multiplayer.

In this theory, multiplayer is the part of the game that will be available early for Xbox One gamers via EA Access - they'll get a trial of five days before launch to try it out.

Multiplayer bonus DLC or item packs would be the "bonus digital content - to be announced!" that's included in the Inquisitor's Edition, Deluxe Edition and Prima Game Guide.

In addition to the idea of the announcement being related to Mulitplayer or a DLC, how about the Keep opening up?

Hope its not multiplayer.

Every second spent on developing multiplayer couldve been spent on making the singleplayer experience better.

This is a silly argument, to me. You can use it to justify cutting anything you don't like.

"Romances are a waste of time. Every second they spent on developing romances could've been spent making the cutscenes look better."

"Rogues are a waste of a class space. Every second they spent developing rogue skills could've been spent adding in more warrior ones."

"Crafting is a waste of resources. Every second they spent developing herbs could've been spent making dungeons bigger."

At the end of the day, you're never going to get the perfect game and there's always going to be things in there you don't care for. That's because Bioware are making it as a product, and not for you personally.

The fact the game could've had more of "thing X I like" in an alternate universe is irrelevant - what's important is whether the finished product represents a good value proposition to you as a player. If it does, you should buy it. If you feel it doesn't, then don't buy it.
