You haven't even tried it yet.

I player ME3 MP for a half hour and never liked it after that and never interested me at all. People have certain preferences towards MP whether to play it or not to play it I prefer not too. I can respect people who are just gonna play the game for the MP experience only and why can't people not wanting to MP get some respect instead of being jumped on or frowned upon because they don't like MP at all.

Multiplayer being forced is a lot different as I didn't appreciate being yelled at and made fun of because I'm terrible. I prefer to be terrible all on my own. :)

You had some bad luck then.  Most people in me3 mp were helpful and understanding if a person is putting in an effort even if they don;t have the experience or skills.

That's perfectly fine, pretty well any of the mp supporters are fine with people not liking mp, not wanting to ever play it.

As long as MP doesn't affect SP *coughME3cough*, i'm fine with it.

There was one mission in ME3 that was bugged and I had to do mp.  I'll more than likely give mp a try.

I'm purchasing the game for PS4.  I have only a handful of friends with that and have the intention in purchasing this game.  I'd like to have some sort of mp demo, but I honestly don't see that happening.

FFS. Here is a direct link to the MP debate thread.
http://forum.bioware...le-multiplayer/

In a hopeless attempt to get back on topic, hoping for a companion app that involves war table missions, in addition the announced crafting.

I would like something similar to Destiny's companion app - let us see our Inquisitor's model, read codex entries, interact with the War Table, craft gear, etc.

It actually sounds like a really useful idea.

I just don't think it'll be what they're announcing later in August.

Seriously, the "effect" in ME3 was so nominal that it is beyond fathoming that people just can't get over it.

For all the whining and energy in this you'd think people would still be ticked off about even worse elements of that series (ME1's inventory mess, the MAKO and/or Hammerhead leap to mind). Frankly given the MAKO and Hammerhead I'm a lot more worried that exploration will have an effect on SP than anything in MP given how dreadful those experiences were.

I think the effects of exploration will have the normal stuff you expect like anything from a choice driven story do you do this instead of this and so on. And see what happens depending on how you solve problems your encounting during such things and how you expand your influnce.

But has for mp in me3 being min effects till the improved endings came out, what had a lot of people upset is you couldn't get your rating up to a point where you got  a certian scene without doing MP to a lot that mattered.

But think bioware has learned from past mistakes and don't think exploring will be anything like it was with the mako and hammerhead, more thinking normal fantasy style with puzzles and so on.

Not entirely hopeless dekkerd, BioWare were 'looking at' a companion app I thought.

Maybe that's still coming...

Ah, nominal. Ok. Sounds familiar. Here's my response.

I'll respond in that thread if you wish, but not in this one.

Can't speak to timing, but I'm hoping the app is as useful as the AC4 app. Being able to clean up and redeploy on my lunch break with the iPad vs having to wait until xbox time would be great.

Yes, that would be good. Essentially your war table on iPad.

I support that speculation.

Is a companion app "big" that a game site "couldn't wait" to share with their audience, though?

I mean, maybe. Maybe they are just exaggerating. But if my friend texted me that there was a big DA announcement, I'd think two things:

1. MP

2. Hawke/Warden confirmed/shown.

The latter has been taken care of (kinda), so at least in my mind MP is the only announcement of that magnitude.

Yeah, actually. You'd be surprised what constitutes a big surprise in gaming these days to the journalists.

After hearing about this companion app, I would love to know more. I can defiantly see their big announcement being about the app. Although I still want to see more info on the keep and finally get my hands on it.

I hope it's Keep related but showing anything new is always exciting to see

Thinking about an app and Dragon Age seems odd to me, hahaha

If it's multiplayer then someone at Bioware has a really short memory for how badly that goes over with their core audience.

Ohh wait, silly me. They lost their core audience after ME3. Carry on!

Me and my own short memory... :P

There are so many possibilities, but they way I see it is:

If it's anything Keep related it will be fairly brief, as the Keep has been pushed back along with the game, so we know that it still has a bit before it's open to everyone. If there is anything Keep related announced, it will likely be a date, which may or may not qualify as "big news."

Multi-player is some form or another is highly desired by a modest audience and has a good chance of being included for several reasons. One, ME3 multi-player went over well. Two, leaked achievements, though unconfirmed, make mention of a MP related achievement. And three, time. They have had quite a bit of extra time to work on the game, and with that time they would have a better ability to add more features, and with MP being popular, that seems like a likely area to work on.

A companion app would be a great extra for the game and allow for a greater amount of control over your game, not to mention that most people have some kind of device to use with the app. This would be even more highly enjoyed if it allowed control over resources, crafting, etc.

As day one DLC is a no-go, I can't imagine any DLC related announcement, and certainly no new companions, as they said they would not be adding anymore.

Finally, another possibility is that they will give more in-depth description on the other specializations, many people would like to know what Tempest will be like or what being a Necromancer will entail, and that would qualify as "big news" to anyone that is more interested in customization, which is a large number of people.

I can find myself playing more hours in SP and never touch MP period and it should be a option to install MP and also have separate achievements tied to MP as I plan on getting 100% of the SP achievements without ever touching MP period. I rather play 100 of SP than even play 1 hour of MP because I never liked MP in games to begin with.

Achievements are a different matter altogether.

No, I don't think SP and MP achievements should be separate. I don't particularly want to play the game on Nightmare mode, but I'd never suggest that there be no achievement tied to difficulty. Achievements should cover all aspects of the game.

If you don't want to MP, then no, you shouldn't get that 100%.

I'd just get all the SP achievements and tell people I got all the SP achievements, leaving MP out of it entirely.

I never played the Tomb Raider reboot's MP because I thought it was tacked on and pointless. Never got an achievement for it, never bothered me.

Then again, I'm not a completionist for every game I play. I did get all the achievements in the Mass trilogy and all the achievements in DAO.

For DA2 I got all achievements barring one in the main game, and that one was glitched back when I played. I didn't download the DLCs so those don't count.

I think people can mentally separate SP and MP achievements without a need for them to be split in reality.

I have the Former Adventurer achievement for Tomb Raider, which apparently only .89% of players got.

I skipped the MP achievements because I didn't feel like getting them.

I will be playing this game for quite awhile. Not everybody plays MP you know including me and have no interest in playing it either. You should have the option of not installing MP and thus not having to worry about even having to get the MP achievements.
