This thread has coop multiplayer written all over it.
GET YOUR HORSES READY
Multiplayer doesn't make any sense though. Especially since the Online portion of the game is already known. The Keep is the "Online Component" of the game. The Keep isn't just for creating your World States, it's also for updating your decisions for the next game, as well as sharing your experiences in the game.
Nothing comes to mind except multiplayer.
Nothing comes to mind for me but the utter Lack of Multiplayer. Dragon Age doesn't need multiplayer.
Can they make money from the Keep?
Charge $1.50 for every World State you create. Haha.......oh **** I just gave them the Idea ![]()
Not all RPGs need multiple PC races.
But we're getting them anyway.
DA:O set a standard for multiple races in the series.
Multiplayer would just fully convince that's there some EA directive somewhere dictating that Mass Effect and Dragon Age follow the exact same path.

Oh pickles. Don't give them ideas, please.

Time to start a petition against multiple races.

Ugh, explain to me why people keep on saying "multiplayer'? Seriously how does multiplayers work? If a player(s) freezes and setup his/her combat system how will it look to the other players? Explain to me how does this multiplayer works?
We don't know exactly. You could design it either way. It could be tactical with a pause option that pauses everyone or more action based without one. You are, potentially, only controlling a single character so it would be easier to manage without pausing than the single player version. There are lots of MMOs and ARPGs that are pretty similar to this.
Alternatively they could make it more tactical and allow any player to pause and the group could discuss things.
Perhaps you could have a "Pause" counter so whenever a player initiates a pause, the time they spend paused counts down from a predetermined value. When that players time runs out they can't pause anymore. Doing this would prevent trolling while still allowing the game to be tactical. Letting the players set this in a matchmaking lobby before hand could cater to both styles of player.

They probably disable the pausing system.
It is entirely possible to play the singleplayer in over-the-shoulder real-time mode, and enemy difficulty needs to be adjusted anyway if it's four players taking control of the party instead of AI.
Tallis as a as of yet secret companion would make me faint of happiness. ![]()
If the Big announcement was a toolkit...
PC players ![]()
Console players ![]()
I would love a toolset.
They've pretty much nixed that happening though.
Yes they have.
However, they often deny things right before they announce them. Playable races for example.
This would be the very first Frostbite toolkit. A game made with the supposedly unmoddable engine, explicitly supporting mods. That would be HUGE news, and something with which they would understandably want to make a splash.
I grant that it's unlikely, but that we perceive it as unlikely is all the reason they'd need to keep it a secret.
Did you pause NWN? Or Alpha Protocol? Or FO3?You could pause in the single player game for Mass Effect. You could not do so in the multiplayer game.
If you're playing with others though, why would you need to do that though? You're only controlling one character.
A lot.
Perhaps too many.
Hoping against hope it's some kind of season pass to an incredibly generous compliment of DLC a la Borderlands 2. Could be everyone that buys the game gets a beta key for the new BW IP.
But, yeah, it's probably multiplayer, which if it's anything like the pleasant suprise it was in ME3, would not go unappreciated, though I would hope if it affects the campaign, there is an in campaign method of achieving the same results.
I'm sure a season pass at this point isn't news. That is pretty much standard issue anymore. It is like getting an encore from a band, it isn't a shock it is expected.
The beta key would be a cool incentive that I like.
I was very, very suspicious of MP for ME but they made it entertaining for me and apparently a lot of other folks (I fired it up this weekend and saw people still playing). Not sure how they do DA MP but I'll certainly try it.
