I mostly use it on the Flamerless GT, for that reason. 1 sec shield recharge=virtually endless dakka.

Seriously though, someone should try it. Justicar with 4a on biotic bubble, and that geth trooper build above. I kinda wanna see just how invulnerable it really is. I mean, with a pure defensive bubble you should have a geth with 5000 effective shields regening those shields constantly. I wouldn't be too surprised if they could tank a whole spawn.

I use shield power cells on builds with additional shield recharge, and I dont plan on tanking hits. sometimes it seems better than cyclonics

I've seen a video of that but with one of the Batarians. It works, literally zero delay.

having not played with the huntress for a while, I took her into a plat match with a power amp and almost instantly regretted it, she must have the slowest shield regen of any kit

 

next match I took a power cell, and felt my damage output was boosted purely because I could pop out of hard cover to shoot more often

shield does not start regenerating while you are cloaked. and as she is one of my duration spec'ed infil, i face similar problem with her too.

Yes, with Multicapacitor the shield recharge becomes really ridiculous. But there's a match IMO with Stronghold Package. You loose only 0,12 second on your shield recharge speed with this gear but you gain 200 additional shields...

Precisely. One of the down sides of soloing a lot (or maybe rage-quitting a lot)... A while back, I started to you use any equipment I had available rather than pug for more. I realized how good shield power cells are and will often use them for solos. Cyclonics still trump for most kits (when soloing) in my opinion, but since I'm usually out of Cyclonics, Adrenaline and power amps.. shield power cells have become my go to. They've completely replaced cyclonics for pug games as well.. cyclonics are reserved for solos lol.

Not on Platinum. First time your shields break it doesn't matter how quick they recharge you can be health gated the next time pretty easily, especially on Plat. Even if you have really low shield recharge time the gate CD is going to be problematic especially if you have a lot of enemies.

I have to try that too. Equiping Shield Power Cells on a vanguard is counter-intuitive at first sight but your build looks promising.

You basically get full shields back even though you take Bonus Charge. By the time charge completes you're recharging already. He's damn near unkillable.

Shield Power Cells III and the Stronghold Package on a weapons platform Geth Trooper is just ridiculous.  Brilliant, but ridiculous.

I use it on my no fitness Javelin Infiltrators, because odds are if you are attacked on plat with such a character you will be gated (even with a cyclonic) and need to get to cover anyway, and it reduces the amount of time before you can get back up and start dishing out damage again.

As if GI weren't already powerful enough, a PC III on top of Geth shield regen makes his shields come back to full after just a couple of seconds.

That actually makes sense.  Good food for thought, particularly consider how many of those I have.

I love them. The two kits I frequently use them on are the Geth Engineer and my quirky Batarian Sentinel build. Almost instantaneous shield regen from shield gate is really nice. Asari Justicar is another who can maximize them if you spec her bubble respectively.

This thread got me thinking, so I respecced my Justicar for a defensive bubble last night and slapped on Stronghold Package and Shield Power Cells III - in addition to taking 5 ranks of fitness w/ the Shield Recharge evo on rank 5. Took my trusty Lancer and drew Geth ... 

 

I know it's been done before, but taking hard cover and easily tanking all 3 Prime siege pulse blasts while nailing the Prime's flashlight is quite amusing. I think I'll do this more often.

Cool, that was one of the purpose of this thread, rethinking about and retrying builds based on Shield Power Cells. This armor bonus is, at least, as good as cyclonics on certain kits, notably on the Justiciar with a defensive bubble.

As many already said, they are very good on kits with strong shield recharge bonuses, like GI and GE, powers increasing shield recharge, like fortification and blade armor, and with low shields, like the HA.
