I understand you perfectly. All I can advise you is to ONLY harvest these planets. They have Element Zero and are very rich resource wise. Just scan these planets asap and you're set for ME3.

Eagle Nebula - Amun, Anthur, Relic, Preying Mouth
Crescent Nebula – Lusam, Tarith

Hawking Eta – Schwarzschild, Etamis

Hourglass Nebula – Farayr, Daratar, Osun, Erinie

Nubian Expanse - Batalla, Thunawanuro

Pylos Nebula – Satent, Boro, Raisaris

Rosetta Nebula - Enoch, Jaob Enoch, Mizraim

There is also 2175 Aeia in the Alpha Draconis Nebula... Even scanning in the direction of the Hugo Gernsback, you'll find Element Zero and Iridium there too. Lots. Also, Platinum

My rule of thumb for planet scanning: garden world (current or former), worlds with stripes around the equator. I usually don't spend very much time scanning. And I interlace it with exploring rather than trying to do it all in one full swoop. I have not found it to be that big a deal, and I am on an xbox with the slow as molasses scanner (even after the upgrade).

I actally like planet scanning. It's relaxing. I grow tired of it near the end of the game but at that point I already have about 70% of galaxy map depleted so I just push it to the end :D

Ah yes, ME-related OCD. We have dismissed that claim.

Gibbed allowed me to break my planet-scanning OCD. I only scan now for one of each type of resource just to get EDI's description of why i might want to scan for that particular resource and then that's it. As for the rest of my ME-OCD... still got it.
