Not sure about blood magic: does blood magic not feed off life itself? Draining someone's Life to power magic is morally suspect in and of itself, irrespective of what might arise from it.(Unless you only use it on yourself of course)
I agreed with the first half of your post so I figured I'd jot down some thoughts on this half... Blood magic is a tool, as Anders would say. Since there is no evidence that it's actually linked to demons, then it can be seen as any type of harmful magic. If I use blood magic on a bandit, it's the same as using fireball... if I use blood magic on a shopkeeper so I can rob him, it's the same as using a paralyze spell. It's all in what you do with the magic IMO.
I could either use blood magic or the normal life drain spell on somebody trying to murder me to keep myself alive or kill them... since they are the hostile party, neither action is evil.
