You missed out the small but very significant detail of being able to create your own world state in the Keep.

So your theory does not really hold water.

Also Bioware long ago confirmed that the Morrigan's child would be addressed in the game, if applicable. In the canon the books use, the Warden was a female Dalish who obviously couldn't give Morrigan a child. She also died slaying the archdemon, so the canon used for the book doesn't have Alistair doing the Dark Ritual either.

Well way play the game if the fate of our warden is in a book

The fate of the warden isn't in the book. It's in the game. What happened in the books applies to Bioware's warden, not yours.

The devs stated in twitter that the default state is "Dalish, dead" and "Hawke mage supported mages"
So it seems these defaults are main

Yeah,I think people need to understand that BioWare devs has stated several times that they need a "default" PC and world setting of their own for new players and players who have deleted or lost their saves or gamers who just don't want to bother with Dragon Age: The Keep.

Well until the game comes out, I'm going to hold on to the hope that the grey warden next to Hawke could potentially be my warden. I really liked my optimal play through warden. A girl can dream....can't she?  ^_^

The Warden hasn't been shown yet simply because of too much awesomeness and because TW is the superior being in Thedas right now.

Archdemon > Elder One

TW > Hawke >= Inquisitor

Nope

Morrigan's child (who can be a simple child, not OBG) will be addressed if he exists. If not - then he won't. Bioware so far seem to stick to the approach "as little connection to previous games as possible". D.Gaider stated that something like OGB should be a player's choice and won't be pushed into faces of new players, since it has a strong connection to previous PC and new player won't have a sinle idea what OGB is

In the twitter they stated that the dead dalish is a main default. Hence the OGB will

Your theory is wrong. If they were to go the canon way, then Hawke would have been a male, not a female.

As much as I agree with you on this I feel the need to nitpick.

That last bit actually agrees with your statement about the OGB, but we have no idea if she had a normal child due to the whole epilogue debacle.

As for arguing about the default/canon:

For the books we'll never know, but we can speculate. (Oh, all the fun!)  :o

For the comic (which has a separate canon) we can sort of guess because of the annotations, but even that isn't entirely clear. (More speculation!)  :D

For DAI the default is everyone that could have died likely died except for the people that have epic plot armor (Leliana).

I don't recall them ever stating what the default gender/class was for Hawke.

This was my thought process as well..... I feel that The WC is just not in the trailer because they didn't have him in it. That, or he's dead in theirs.

But yes, male mage hawke was the default per trailers (and possible mentions by devs/writers).

There's no canon Hawke.
