I am just now playing the first ME, in preparation for the release of ME2. I tried it back when it came out originally, but with a male Shep (somehow, I missed the fact that you could play as female when I started the game), and that combined with the FPS-esque combat turned me off enough that I set the game aside.
Then came Dragon Age, and my love for Bioware RPGs hit an all time high. I was just going to skip ME1 altogether, until I found out the choices you make impact your ME2 play experience. So I unearthed ME1 and started a female Shep playthrough. Once I finally figured out the combat, I started actually enjoying the game. (Though not as much as Dragon Age.)
However, the whole point of this post is so I can say: "Giraffe neck? It has a name?? And here I thought it was just my bad luck with the character creator!" Seriously, my Jane looked great in the creator, not so much in game. She has a weak chin (that no doubt is my fault), bad hair, and a terribly long neck that thankfully, I stop noticing when she's suited up in armor.
In these pics, it doesn't look as bad as what I'm seeing in my ME playthrough. Thank goodness! And I'm glad I didn't give in to the temptation, after Eden Prime, to start over so I could try to reduce/remove these small physical flaws. The giraffe neck is the worst among them.
