I think I'll be turning off the terminator look. It doesn't look scary just looks, weird..

That would depend on the official explanation of the phenomenon, imo.

I'm pleased as punch. I can't wait to do a facial reconstruction on all my Female Shepards.

I am just now playing the first ME, in preparation for the release of ME2. I tried it back when it came out originally, but with a male Shep (somehow, I missed the fact that you could play as female when I started the game), and that combined with the FPS-esque combat turned me off enough that I set the game aside.

Then came Dragon Age, and my love for Bioware RPGs hit an all time high. I was just going to skip ME1 altogether, until I found out the choices you make impact your ME2 play experience. So I unearthed ME1 and started a female Shep playthrough. Once I finally figured out the combat, I started actually enjoying the game. (Though not as much as Dragon Age.)

However, the whole point of this post is so I can say: "Giraffe neck? It has a name?? And here I thought it was just my bad luck with the character creator!" Seriously, my Jane looked great in the creator, not so much in game. She has a weak chin (that no doubt is my fault), bad hair, and a terribly long neck that thankfully, I stop noticing when she's suited up in armor.

In these pics, it doesn't look as bad as what I'm seeing in my ME playthrough. Thank goodness! And I'm glad I didn't give in to the temptation, after Eden Prime, to start over so I could try to reduce/remove these small physical flaws. The giraffe neck is the worst among them.

I find the worst of it is out of armor. In armor all my femsheps look fine. If I mess up the face slightly, well, toggle helmet on :)

I just thought most of the facial customization in ME1 was fairly botched overall, regardless of gender..Honestly, If I'm not mistaken, at the time of ME1's development, I believe there were examples of well-constructed character generators already in existence(e.g. Saints Row1 or to a lesser extent, TESIV:Oblivion). And sorry to go so off-topic with this, but really, not even a numerical value on the strangely affected and minuscule number of sliders? It's like trying to build a custom face out of an incomplete set of lego bricks or something. Barely feasible at the best of times, utter frustration at the worst; Overall, one of the things I would be most pleased to see improvement with in ME2.

As for 'giraffe neck', I never really noticed it so much in all the images I've seen of FemShep. o.0

And here I thought Miranda was the worst looking female in ME2.
