sooooo,

Currently I just finished the Circle Tower quest after Lothering, and this strange thing kinda happened:

I've tried to like Morrigan, but she was always the plain **** as Alistar would put it. Nevertheless I always stayed nice towards her, gave her the gifts which belong the her, found that book of her mother, and accepted that quest she gave me afterwards. We haven't had a single flirtious conversation whatsoever. Now Wynne suddenly start talking to me in the camp about "my love with morrigan" and such, while as far as I'm concerned, we're just friends.

The thing is, I intended to romance Leliana, whom I talked to afterwards and basicly we agreed we're lovers blablabla, but now she's saying im taking advantage of her by having her and morrigan at the same time.. So I was like whaaaaaaaat did I do wrong...

so I saved and went up to morrigans tent to see what's up and suddenly she went from Ice-queen mode to "snu-snu" mode and wanted the D (which, since I had saved the game beforehand, happely complied towards)...

I have no idea where this all comes from, as I never have talked with morrigan about a relationship and suddenly everyone's thinking we're together and I'm in the middle of this while all I wanted is to romance Leliana...

So my question is, can I basicly tell Morrigan "pre-snu snu" (though it's not nice to say) that there's nothing between us, or will this have concequences in the future? (in Mass Effect, dumping romance interest could eventually even result in their death, so I want to be sure there will be no concequences besides some approval points loss) also, does anyone know how much point she'll lose?

please advice, and thanks in advance

women.. always causing dem troubles...

Morrigan can survive rejection, so don't worry. She wont burst into flames or rip out your eyes. Or burn down your tent while you are sleeping and put slugs in your soup. Or anything like that.

Ways to reject:

1. If you have a save before the proposal to enter her tent, you can simply talk to her, tell her you need to talk about something personal and tell her that you want to end this. She'll understand, hand you 15 disapproval points and leave you be.

2. If you only have a save where she asks you to warm her tent, you can simply tell her to get a thicker blanket and then tell her: Not interested. She'll get the message and shut down the romance, giving you 10 disapproval points.

Not a high price to pay in my opinion.

As to what triggered this: Did you give her the golden mirror? If so, you might have given her a compliment, which triggered the romance. (If you haven't given her the mirror yet, then be careful in that conversation. Put an emphasis on Friend!)

Otherwise you might have complimented her on her female features in some other conversation, which can trigger the romance.

thanks alot for the input mate, I do remember something about a mirror indeed, not sure what I said however. I only have a save where she suddely in nice to me (weird..) and indeed I can tell her to get a blacked. From what I understand this is actually better because it only costs 10 points instead of 15, whithout any further concequences, awesome! Soooo, I tell Morrigan to make love to some sheets, get Leliana to be the love interest, and all is done like I originally intended I suppose.

So I guess I must have triggered something somewhere in the game... I just can't recall us being flirtious, ever! Maybe it's the same reason I fail miserbly at times with women IRL as well..

thanks for the quick aid my man, gratitude!

lol you were ninjamanced.  xD  Sometimes picking a specific, seemingly innocent dialogue starts a romance.  For example, if you tell Morrigan, "you can probe me anytime," that begins a romance with her... :?

The opposite happened to me once. I was romancing Morrigan and accidentally started a relationship with Leliana. I looked it up and apparently clicking something like "She was special to you, wasn't she?" (referring to Marjoilane) after Leliana's personal quest somehow triggers a romance. So stupid.

yeah it's rather annoying indeed. In Mass Effect it was much plainer, but ofcourse Mass Effect uses a Dialogue wheel which kinda spoils the correct answers for you, while Dragon Age keeps my answers more... "honest".

anyhow, I just rounded up the Leliana's Song DLC. Very touching, won't spoil anything, but it really made me respect Leliana alot more, and got me more interested. Will initiate the above suggested procedure next time I play. Thanks for the reply's folks.

This is what led to the heart shape icons in Dragon Age 2.

This also happened to my CEF who was romancing Lolly and is suddenly getting up me for loving Alistair. WTF? And then, like an idiot, thinking I'll talk to Al because I hadn't much up to that point and he gives me the rose. So now, I play two games concurrently - one for romancing Al (which is my canon) and one for romancing everyone else.

I disagree for Mass Effect, at least for the first one.  Any playthrough I wasn't romancing Liara, I would never, ever talk to her.  There are places on her conversation wheel where every answer starts a romance :P

And yeah, now I use the wiki to tell things like that for Dragon Age 1.  Some of those are not intuitive at all.

Both Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2 were careful to make it clearer.  Mass Effect 2 had the "I want to talk about something personal" option, and Dragon Age 2 had the heart icon.

Ugh, don't remind me. That whole blinking system was terrible.
