It's good to be informed from multiple news sources but also to take a break once in a while and put complete focus on your personal issues.
You can't, didn't you get the memo, all humans are deep down assholes. At least according to this thread, lol.

That is a pipe dream that is never going to happen. As long as differences in beliefs exist, there will be people who will fight and kill for those beliefs. I am actually glad it is that way because those differences are what makes people unique instead of being one giant Borg like entity.

The world is a lot better than it used to be, and it's constantly getting better with the progression of global free trade. The only reason it seems like it is getting worse is because we hear about these things in the new more often and are more exposed to it. The truth is though, that things ARE getting better all the time.
its true
WW3 seems more and more unlikely
I guess that's something

You can thank nuclear weapons. Now major powers just constantly play chicken and the minor powers strut around the U.N. accomplishing nothing.
That's why I'm generally unconcerned with war. It'll be back to the status quo soon enough.

Meeting new people is just as good as first contact, perhaps better. When you meet a stranger, you have no idea of their past, present or future. Dreams, hopes, fears and goals.
Why wait for first contact when you can go out and meet someone new. The average person can surprise you for good or fr worse. Better yet, you might make a friend.

People have always been killing people. You could say human history is the history of violence. It's nothing to be shocked about. Years ago the Talbian used to skin Russian troops, years before that Jews were gassed in chambers and years before that women were burnt alive 'cos the PS4 wasn't invented yet.
It's just that we're more aware of it because of globalisation, and better at it because of technology.
If it bothers you that much then don't watch it. Personally, it's a sad reality that really doesn't move me an inch.
Of course, it's easy for me to say 'I don't care' when I'm in a first-world setting with a reasonable income and on top of that I live in the safest place in Europe, maybe even the world.
But people murdering each other really has never bothered me. It's bad, yeah, of course, but you hear about it all the time you just grow numb to it.
It also doesn't help that I've seen a bunch of those sick videos with beheadings and Mexican chainsaw executions and whatnot. Horrible stuff, but like I said, you just grow numb to it.

Uh I am not thanking nuclear weapons for anything. And if you think they are just a deterrent or what have you then I must suggest you ask some of the older citizens of Hiroshima or Nagisaki. I think they might have not so distant ancestors with something to say about nuclear weapons. If they weren't dead because of them I mean. And WW3 is only so far off as the supply of OIL holds out. When the planet runs dry there shall be war like no one can imagine. Oil already fuels war and conflict.
So back to the staus quo? War is the statest quo. It has become big business and big business runs the f'ing show. It is depressing and scary yeah. What to do about it? Distarction is my motto. That and puff the magic dragon.

This...this is depressing. I can't imagine constant war now and in our future, I refuse to believe that WW3 would happen. We might have politicians with no brains but I am 100% certain that nobody is stupid enough to go to war, not now and not in the future. Despite the advances we have made as a species, we are far more fragile than ever before and a slight tip in this balance will cause chaos world wide.
The next "big" war is non-profitable and would only end in our demise, you can't make money from that. Its better to have sheep and slaves than corpses.

The problem is our heavy reliance on oil right now. Most of the "western world" countries wouldn't run without it anymore.
Once our oil starts running out, our options are going to be either A. Attempt a mass replacement with an alternative fuel source or B. Take it from other people. The problem with A is that is costs an absurd amount of money to replace all of our existing infrastructure for oil with something new, and the problem with B is that it's already started happening.
We very quickly need somebody to figure out the solution to A, and then start figuring it out for other resources that we're reliant on.

That's exactly right. If I might add, our dependence on oil is also causing alarming and dangerous shifts in the Earth's climate, which in the future will cause further regional and global instability (hard to eat when there isn't any arable land or fresh water, harder to live in cities 3-9+ feet underwater).

I actually made a friend with a girl from Nagasaki back when I played FFXI. I obviously never brought up the bombing but Nagasaki today is doing a lot better than many American cities.
It's a terrible weapon and because of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the entire world knows it. Fat man and little boy are dwarfed by today's nuclear weapons which is why we'll almost positively never face a total war situation with Russia, China, or any other nuclear advesary for that matter. Also, the likelihood of another Hitler or Napoleon emerging in a post-nuclear world seems unlikely as well. Sporadic conflicts and diplomatic stopgaps are the status quo, not war.
As for oil, it's debatable whether we've even reached peak oil yet and we're already turning towards more natural gas and fracking. I wonder what your solution to oil would be though. "Green" solutions rely heavily on government subsidies and haven't proven very cost effective as of yet. Things like solar roadways are unfeasible pipedreams, and nobody seems to want giant, avian-killing wind turbines in their back yard. There's no silver bullet for this problem and we're nowhere near running out of energy in the forseeable future.

The police shoot white people too, we just don't have a cottage industry that riles people up regardless of the evidence whenever it happens.
There is a real issue of PDs around the country getting geared up with surplus military hardware from recent wars and turning it on civilians where it isn't warranted; and SWAT teams breaking down the wrong doors, maiming babies, killing pets, and shooting people (whites among them) like the kid who answered the door with a Wii remote in his hand.

like that white guy who shot up the movie cinema?
they didn't shoot him though
they probably drove around looking for some black kid wearing a hoodie and shot him instead

Seriously. Since when did Nihilism and Misanthropy become cool?
Since Romanticism of 18th/19th centuries is bashed by Anti-Idealists and Anti-Romanticist thinkers of later.

I think USA police force needs the same organization and discipline of China and Russia police forces so these shots won't happen in the future. Considering that the city that the black boy is shot in is a small one, the police force of that region isn't the best and paradigm for the police force though.

I gave a few examples but I see you're disregarding them. James Holmes didn't put up any resistance to police at all. Resistance is the crux of the Ferguson case.
It looks like you only know, or care, about high-profile American news stories and believe they can all be lumped together into one ******-for-tat narrative.

That sounds unhealthy. Putting yourself in the role of the victim for everything has got to take its toll on your outlook at some point.
