Well,

I was working with a portal gate, and i was tring to change the way it looks in properties window! The issue i am having is the toolsets limited default choices!

how do you add more choices to the lists of appearances a placebile has?

Is their a special plugin?

where to look for help?

If I am understanding your question correctly...

Each appearance requires its own MDB model file with associated textures, so to add an appearance you would need to build a new model (or reskin an old one). Doing that right takes time and practice. (You can also go looking to see if anybody else has built other portal models for NWN2.) Once your model is done, you then need to modify your placeables.2da file and add a hak file containing the new model and textures.

Have you checked to see if the portal is tintable? You might be able to change that. You can also change the scale. Another option is to creatively group placeables together so as to produce a different appearance. Different visual effects can also help.

The portals arent tintable by default.

Pj's cornucopia adds tons of new appearances/objects and makes many things tintable that weren't previously. The pack I am working on adds tinting to most things and gives a whiter base color to work from, as well as sets up unique textures for these alternate objects so you can change the texture if you want.

Hey thanks!

I use to model Games by interplay, so it might  be worth checking on nwn2 modeling. Gmax 12 is all i have left of 3d modeling software. I use to love raydream because it was the only one that made a 3d model out of 2d images. The cons was it was extremely limited on exporting and importing file formats!

anyway i now know what i am looking for i should be able to find it.

bellow is the link to the file you said! thanks agian

I have placeables out the ying yang but they were not added to master list of appearances. The property box in the toolset. I guess i would have to edit a 2da file to include the new appearances.

The 2DA you want is Placeables.2da.  Also, see the list of reserved ranges if you plan to create some new models.  I use Gmax for that purpose, and it's a decent workhorse.  You just need the MDB import/export plugins for NWN2.  This is the one I use.
