I moved my Dragon Age folder from the location it was at in Program Files, and I forgot I moved it and then used CCleaner to do a registry check. And it deleted the key for Dragon Age because the folder wasn't where the Registry said it was, and I can't install the newest patch now.

Can someone go into Regedit and give me the key?

Takes too long to reinstall.

Bump.

It doesn't take long. All you have to do is go to Start - Run... - Type in Regedit and push enter. Then navigate to the place where it is.

You know, if you bought the game, you would have your own copy of the key on your manual.

Sigh.

Not the CD key, idiot.

The REGISTRY key.

Read up. Learn.

It shows the path where the game is installed and that's what the patch looks for.

If I needed a CD key I would just use google, they are very easy to obtain.

Well, I guess you can reinstall then, punk ass. Sorry I misunderstood you, but that is no reason to call me an idiot. You know, I just did a registry search for you because I thought I would be the bigger person and help you out, but there are too many entries, so you'll be better off reinstalling.

The reg key might not be in the exact same place depending on your OS, and there may be multiple keys. I'd recommend doing what CrustyCat said, and reinstall then repatch. Best way to be safe. You really don't want to screw up your save files and DLC.

the only way it takes to long to re-install, is if you have to bring it in,............. illegally.

with the exception of Steam/VALVe, then ya, it could take awhile, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yeah... I have the exact same issue... kinda. I upgraded my PC to windows 7 and all my games are on the secondary hard drive... hoping to find the keys so I can just patch the game as I don't have access to the discs. I'm out of town for a month and it kinda sucks having only a couple games that work. -.-

registry folder(s):
AEC81925-9C76-4707-84A9-40696C613ED3
AEC81925-9C76-4707-84A9-40696C613ED3

Also consider sysinternals/server2008 reskit for the "junction" tool. soft link filesystem for moved installation.
Additionally. (haven't tried this) regedit relevant DAO paths. not sure security cert for securom will like this.

I have taken to installing 2 copies of windows. 1 Lg for everday and boot into one small. install DRM gaming on small partition - Disk image - Store and re-install disk images. Faster and preserves all settings and saves.
just my 2c for a year old thread.
