Does choosing a "no helmet" option cause Sheppard to have no helmet in battle? In ME1 helmets came on automatically when you went into battle but I'm not sure I have seen that happen in ME2. Sheppard sometimes wears a helmet when the air is not breathable. Another question, any way to get the helmet off from the Dragon armor?

There are a few missions where Shepard will be forced to wear a breather helmet if using the N7 armor. The Collector Ship is one such mission. When this happens, you no longer get the bonus for any visor or alternative helmet you might have equipped. So, for instance, if you normally equip the Kawashi visor for head shot bonuses, you will not get those bonuses during the Collector Ship mission. Instead, you will get the health bonus from the breather helment. Cerberus, Inferno, and Blood Dragon armor (and probably the others I don't have) have their own full helmets so this does not apply to them. Short of modding, there is no way to remove the helmet from these armor sets.
