so I thought there sould be a thread to discuss the perks we can acquire as shown in the demo. I screened everything to do with perks for you guys.

Source.
This looks like an interesting system, but I'll probably have a hard time deciding which ones to choose if we can't unlock them all. The ones listed here all seem kind of important...
Perks seem to be talking the place of skills in some parts.
Leliana's perks gives you new conversational options when it comes to Mages/Magic and the nobility.
Maria approves.
I will probably hold off unlocking codex entries as long as possible though so I can get the perks that give me +50% xp for them. That's always annoying.
Yep it also seems to be taking the place of those inventory increases you can buy. I wonder if it will do the same for skill books?
You are awesome OP.
Thankyou. ![]()
I'm actually surprised that the fade/magic one, I figured Josephine would do that once since shes more diplomacy, and notes, and transcripts.

Slow down there... I don't know if I like the idea of my skill points being effected by whether I invested in secrets or forces. If we can unlock everything, I wouldn't mind, but that could be a problem if we have to pick and choose.
i'm loving that this takes the place of the "skills" in DA: Origins. It's more interesting, immersive and I just love reading in game content like this. It also provides more "usefulness" to the advisors.

Well we already know xp is invested in it. I'm not saying it will be just that it could.

here's to hoping that the bonus is at least retroactive.
With the way it is worded, it's even possible that the bonus applies to only codex entries you've already found. That would suck too.
I thought you meant other.. perks. but this is good as well!
Thanks for post. Really interesting.
I imagine you can unlock them all.
Sounds good to me. I'd be fine either way, unless spell/talent points are at stake. In that case I'd rather be able to get as much additional power as possible.

Well, Secrets says it's about "Developing keen eyes and an inquisitive mind" While Connections is "Training in the fine art of persuasion"
Looks like Leliana is about digging up information, while Josephine is going to provide more social perks.
Between that and the power of the hand powers that where shown in the demo(not just rift closing.) really looking forward to trying all the perks and such.
The over all system for everything is very detailed, can't wait to find out if we can blackmail people into things if we uncover things or if our solider sbecome powerful force our way into areas.

great where the harem?
what? don't look at me like that how else can we distract invaders and spys so they can be stabbed to death by their own weapons?
These don't seem like Perks for the Inquisitor, they just seem like Perks that leverage the power of the Inquisition as a military, political and economic force. Things like being able to requisition new technology on a large scale (Tempered Glass for example), and some of these perks benefit your whole team, such as the aforementioned tempered glass perk.

The title was more of a comedic reference. Not a particularly funny one I admit but I could not resist.

Maybe one is for codex entries you find from that point on, while the other is retroactive? That'd cover both bases.
I'd hope so anyway, because I'll feel a little sting every time I unlock an entry without the perk bonus.
Her fruit is not forbidden, but she doesn't just share it with anyone. The Inquisitior is out of luck.
I dunno, I think having a hand that doubles as a nightlight is enough of a perk.
