I wouldn't mind seeing them again, but it might be tricky since many people killed them in DA2. It depends on whether or not the devs wanted to put in the effort to make it work, so I'm not sure what to expect.
Merrill's Clan may be back! DALISH WARDEN! MERRILL! (SPOILERS!)

I always kill the Sabre clan, so I'll just check them as dead in the keep for consistency.

Indeed i am!
It's from my own personal 17 specific playthroughs of Dragon Age 2
in thirteen of those playthroughs, Merril was killed.
By Andraste's holy titts! How could you play Dragon Age 2 17 times? I enjoyed the game for what it was, but by the end, I was hoping that I could help the Maleficarum burn Kirkwall to the ground.

I wouldn't mind seeing them again, if they lived, but I'd rather some new clans. If only to expand our data set on Dalish behavior. The more clans we meet, the more of a baseline we develop on what is or isn't 'normal' for the Dalish in terms of actions and attitudes.
Well, the game is supposed to be huge... maybe there's more than one Dalish clan this time? The Dalish Inquisitor's clan (if they aren't wiped out before or during the game's intro) and maybe 2 others wouldn't be going overboard, would it? That way, people who don't play as Dalish elves would still be able to observe two slightly different cultures.

Oh, I had seventeen imports from DAO.
I used them all, fairly simple.

lol. I found it hard to keep playing it after awhile, Kirkwall was too repetitive, I felt like I was in prison.

It would be cool to see Merrill again, I wonder what she would be doing with her clan, possibly be the new Keeper?

Look I like that clan as much as anyone but do we have to go back to them again? I'd prefer some different Dalish characters at this point. There's supposed to be plenty of them out there.

After the events of DA2, it would strain my willingness to accept if her former clan were willing to have anything to do with her.lol. I found it hard to keep playing it after awhile, Kirkwall was too repetitive, I felt like I was in prison.

oooh, my cannon warden is dalish and part of the reason I liked DA2 so much was cos of the ties to her clan.
Unfortunately, my Hawke killed them all. I may undo that choice in the keep, because in my opinion, that dialog choice is the best example in all of gaming of paraphrases not meaning what you think they mean. I interpreted "I'll take responsibility" as meaning I would say "this is all my fault" - which it wasn't, so I didn't pick it. In actuality, Hawke says something along the lines of "I'lll protect you from Merrill." Which I would have been totally cool with saying, and thus, my Warden's clan would still be alive.
Still angers me to think about it...

Isn't there suppose to be some meeting between the Dalish Clans in this game?

I've played it like 20+ times. Mods can make a head canon unique enough.

Yeah isn't it like the 10 year gathering? At the last one Merrill was given to the Sabrae clan to be Marathari's first. She was previously from a clan in Nevarra.

I was not a fan of that dialog myself. In order to not kill them, you have to diminish Merrill, which seems absurd, especially if you friend or friendmance her.

I remember Fenris saying there was going to be, in act 3 I think. So it may have already happened.

Yeah, I didn't like that they attacked me for telling the truth. I think it was, "Marethari was possessed," or something like that. Attacking me for trying to explain what happened was going way too far.

Maybe we can point Gaspard or Celene in their direction and go

Not really, they are the Dalish, if you tried to explain how their pain, misery and suffering is all their fault.
I'm sure they would attack you as well *nods sagely*

Merrill was by far my favorite character in Dragon Age 2, and really the only thing that kept me coming back to the game. Seeing her again would be fantastic.

I really hope that's true and we get to see the clan if they live. I was lucky and picked the clan saving option during my first playthrough so I've only killed the clan on my evil playthroughs and never by accident. I doubt that means that we'll see the dalish Warden there though (would be awesome, but still).
