It it safe to assume that we will never see a mature storyline in a form of a game now that Disney is in command. Like a Star Wars version of Dragon age for instance? Are we to expect games that are for the most part geared to all audiences? Or perhaps that will have some leeway with the franchise and allow for games that tackle more grittier things in the Star Wars Universe?
Now that Disney owns Star Wars.

Probably. Revenge of the Sith was pretty dark and fairly mature and underrated in my opinion. I don't think we'll be seeing a Dark Jedi killin' kids and merc'n folks like Ani did in RoTS, now that Disney is at the helm.

With Star Wars 1313 being cancelled and the live action show being stuck in limbo, the chances of getting mature storytelling out of Disney seem slim.

*Sighs* My dreams of a Boba Fett Game where I can kick ass and take names look bleak now. Like that one PS2 game with Jango Fett...that was awesome.

Visceral games is currently making a Star Wars game right now, they made Dante's Inferno and the Dead Space series all of which are rated M. While that doesn't necessarily mean the game will be rated M, M games are all that I know Visceral does and the fact that they chose Visceral to do it speaks for that as well. I am expecting a game with lightsaber dismemberment and praying it isn't a Death Troopers based game.

Disney owns Marvel and they've been largely unaffected, considering the entire Deadpool kills trilogy was printed.
Ya'll worry over nothing.

Well when I say Mature, I don't mean like Twi'lek strippers everywhere (Not that I would mind
) I mean like a story that tackles darker, more brutal aspects of the Universe.

With all the books becoming non-canon, I am not sure.

The original Trilogy isn't even that mature. It's a basic fairy tale story taking place in space.
Very true. See: Ewoks

I mean, Star Wars basically invented the term "Space Opera", it was never really dark or mature fantasy like say Game of Thrones is, but I think now that Disney has it they will dumb it down even further.

Is that a reference to the Godfather games they made?
The stories that Visceral games tell are almost always dark and always involve mass death (usually in a very gorey manner) and sometimes drugs. I mean that doesn't guarantee that will be the case with their Star Wars game, but there is a good chance for it since that is one of the 3 known studios (the other two being Dice and Bioware) EA chose to develop a Star Wars game.

It's best to kiss those dreams goodbye. Star Wars 1313 was going to be all about Boba Fett in his early adulthood, kicking ass and taking names in the slums of coruscant.

Well.... To be fair. EA killed that one.
And.... DICE is in charge of Battlefront.
And that.....
Should terrify you.

I don't know if you all saw the same movie as me, but Return of the Jedi had some pretty disturbing ****. When you think about it, it's pretty likely that the Ewoks ate the stormtroopers after the Battle of Endor.

The original trilogy wasn't that mature. It had some dark and light moments, but most of the themes were ones that most ages could be entertained by. I can't see Disney doing any worse than the Gungans or Ewoks, though. Lucas isn't that great of a director any more. I'm sure some company will come along and pick up a mature-themed license for the franchise, though. With DICE developing the next Battlefront, I think we'll at least have a T game, maybe even M if there's enough profanity.

I loved that theory, but not as much as the theory where the debris from the Death Star II rained down on Endor bringing about a day of reckoning for the Ewoks.
Link to theory: http://starwars.wiki...Endor_Holocaust The link also contains a picture of burning Endor and an Ewok that is about to die. ![]()

Rogue Squadron 4 would just be.... great.
But not with EA, and all the crap they do. Pay 5 dollars for a B-Wing!!! Hooray!

The Lone Ranger was a good movie imo. (in movies)
In video games their direction is not clear.

The Rogue Squadron series was amazing and so was Battle for Naboo, but what I really want is a new X-wing vs. Tie Fighter and I want it brought to consoles. I mean, I could definitely go for both, but if I had to choose one over the other X-wing vs. Tie Fighter is what I would choose.

I prefer Rogue Squadron series. X-wing vs. Tie Fighter games were too primitive to play even 10 years ago.
I've also played Starfighter on PC and it was amusing. Jedi StarFighter was actually better but there was no PC version.
