Number 1 should Be Half Life 2 or Resident Evil 4.

I agree with the overall list but not necessarily the rankings (ALTTP & KOTOR should be in the top 10 imo).

A few weeks days ago I had a wishbone from this whole chicken. Thus I decided to make a wish because why the fcuk not. I had just recently replayed Half-Life 2 at the time so naturally I wished for Gaben to get on with Half-Life 3.
This is what happened..

Half-Life 3 confirmed...?

Any list that doesn't have Super Mario Bros. in the top 5 is a fail list.

Half-Life 3 is going to be a disappointment.

Sh!t list ! Fallout 3 ? but not Fallout 2, what !?!, lack of Ultima 7,Wizardry, Jagged Alliance,Heroes 3 and Gothic 2.
I give up, i could take up lots of games that i wanted in a 100 top list but it's no point !

Thoughts?
They're the games that Empire magazine readers liked. Which is another way to say they're the games that the sort of people who like Empire magazine are likely to vote for. Since I don't like Empire magazine, the overlap in our tastes is likely to be quite small.
Depending on the distribution of tastes among those who read Empire, and how they worked out the voting, the list may well be worse than useless anyway. But hey ho, that's one of the drawbacks of voting: it has a tendency to dilute choice; clear judgement and meaningful expression of taste.

Shows you why hardcore gamers should never be listened to. Any list, and no this is my opinion or subjectivey, that doesn't have Super Mario Bros. 3 in the top five is deeply flawed. In this case, you got hardcore gamers, voting without thinking logically.
Key games like Civilisation, Super Mario Bros. and the likes should always be on the top of any list.

Three bones = 3
That chicken now has half a life as there is now a version of itself in an alternate reality in which it still lives.
Half life chicken + 3 = Half life 3

Whenever I see a top 5 list or anything, I stop when I notice Ocarina of Time.
It's a good game but it's indicative of blind nostalgia, more often than not.
Subjectivity and all.

Half-Life 2 at 15, Portal 2 at 41, Silent Hill 2 at 62, Fallout 3 at 25, Homeworld at 98... but oh, GTA *twice* in top twenty, CoD *anything* anywhere near this list, ME2 higher up than ME, Halo in top ten, and The Last of Us at number one.
Empire Magazine, yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Planescape: Torment is in 66?
GTA V is higher than San Andreas?
The Walking Dead is THERE?
Geez. Opinions that aren't mine suck.

Despite owning an N64 since I was 7 years old (I still have it and it still works), I never played OoT until a couple of years ago. My reaction was that it was greatly overrated. Granted, I was spoiled by Twilight Princess and WindWaker. Majora's Mask was better imo. It was a great game, don't get me wrong, but the other LoZ's were better.

The Last of Us represents both an advance and a step back for games imo. When a game is that much watching cutscenes with small bits of redundant gameplay, it shouldn't be called a game. But the presentation and voice acting are excellent.

Last of Us in hard mode is awesome.
There should be an even harder mode because it seriously is sooo fun when it's hard as hell.

This list is going to get a few thumbs up for including SH2 at least -- There's definitely some worthy Zeus-bestowed-gems on it, but also a lot of tripe sandwiches like Championship Manager? Duke Nukem? Skyward Sword? Guns of the Patriots? League of Legends of all things?!

There's also a serious lack of Kenji-loving P3 in that list.
Kenji for president
Kenji for life

I definitely feel that way, too.
If anything, OoT was a beta test for 3D Zelda. It made way for better games in the style. It's sort of how Symphony of the Night (Also overrated) made way for Metroidvanias.

I think there's something to be said for it being the revolutionary Zelda game that continues to define 3d Zelda gameplay (and a lot of other 3d action adventure games) to this day. The praise it gets is not just for how good it is on its own (but it is quite good), but what it accomplished for gaming.
I think Majora's Mask is a better game, but Ocarina of Time is probably a much more significant one.
