Using attractive looking people in marketing material is not anything new. We've been doing it since marketing was a thing.

As far as characters in games themselves, in most cases I think it's just fine leaving the sexual orientation undefined. I find it stupid to include characters that are gay just so the developer can say "Hey look, we included gay people!", and often those characters are poorly written and seem to exist only to remind you constantly that they are gay(or part of any other group of non straight white guys that they're trying to appeal to).

In something like Mass Effect the choice is nice for the people who want it, but I don't think people need to start including every group of people just for the sake of saying they included them.

THAT'S MY POINT

we see a guy kissing a girl on every book cover game cover movie poster on earth and suddenly when I want 2 guys doing it we say no

why???

I'm gay and I don't want to tiptoe around other people cause they might get "offended" like I could care less, when a guy and a girl make out in public or hold hands everyone is like "AWWWW so cute" and when 2 guys do it we think Armageddon has started : /

I wont tolerate this anymore, gay men and women are no longer a minority to be ignored

Not everyone shares the same vision as Bioware. I couldn't possibly care if protagonist or any character is hetero or gay as long as he/she is well written.

I dislike however how Bioware is keep showing up political correctness down our throats when it comes to this game: "Hey guys we have gay characters in our game, spread the news". Yeah thanks, because your previous games have them as well. KOTOR was released 11 friggin years ago and it has s/s romances and they didn't make big deal out of it.

Witcher, Fallout:NV, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Vampire: Bloodlines, The Last of Us...all have gay characters and i never saw developers marketing or making a big deal out of it.

There are myriad books, shows, movies, and even some games that are made specifically for gay men. I'm amazed that you haven't encountered any, since most of the foreign movies from Israel and Palestine that get on Netflix are tragic gay love stories.

While in reality a lot of movies/games/shows/books/magazines/anything have straight people on them and they're like "Hey look, straight people!" They're doing the same, wanting attention and such.

I'd say it's fine to leave the sexual orientantion out in everywhere (and that includes straight people) but that won't happen right? The moment straight people appear, nobody bats an eyelid and when you see gay people, i hear things such as "we should leave the sexuality out" or "ew".

Just telling you how things are in general.

Well, Netflix is a revolving door of movies but yes, really. Just in the Middle-Eastern (i.e. Levantine) category of foreign films you can expect several LGBT movies at any time, usually with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or Orthodox Judaism as the backdrop.

http://www.amazon.co...&qid=1408288881

^ Amazon's Gay & Lesbian Erotica section; thousands of books featuring shirtless men on the cover.

I mentioned Netflix before in regards to movies from your part of the world, but they also have a broader LGBT selection of movies in general; even more on Netflix DVD. In the U.S. there are a handful of T.V. channels whose key demographics include LGBT people.

On the game front there's this... http://steamcommunit...s/?id=148658734 and a few other indie games in greenlight. Honestly they don't look good but there you go. As far as AAA titles go, BioWare games, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, GTA, Bully, Fable, and others have gay characters or allow for homosexual interaction.

Just telling you how things are in general.

I'm not saying leave it out everywhere, I'm saying it doesn't always need to be included.

I never find myself sitting around thinking "Titanfall is great, but it would be so much better if at the end of a successful mission my pilot got a kiss from her girlfriend". Any personal information about my character is largely irrelevant and if I really wanted to I could just make something up for them.

Or even in games that do have a story people might actually care about they often leave the sexual orientation out. To pull a game from my Steam List, they never specifically mention anything for Tomb Raider. There are a few implications, but the whole thing is left ambiguously defined.

If you're going with a game that goes really in depth on character development like BioWare always does or if it will add something to the story then by all means go and define the sexual orientation. It's just not always needed is what I was saying.

Also, virtually nobody uses the fact that somebody is straight to try and get attention. They're usually going for the sex route, because us Humans tend to really like sex.

Thank you. I was not aware there were LGBT movies from the Levant. Are any of them good?

Yeah, that game looks like a bad old-school Flash interactive gay porn. It looks like Patrick Fillion drew it, which isn't really my thing.
