Cut dialogue?

I recall someone uploaded some cut dialogue onto YouTube a long time ago, which indicated that Cassandra and Hawke had met in person at some point. I could be wrong about the actual dialogue. I might have even imagined the whole thing.

The DA wiki sayeth "Unused dialogue from Dragon Age II suggests there was a cut quest involving a female member of the Seekers of Truth encountering Hawke in Kirkwall, likely referring to Cassandra."

well now i want to know what that dialogue is D:

This is assuming that Varric is a permanent member of the Inquisition, of course. Leliana, Cullen, and possibly Cassandra also knew Hawke.

Cassandra never knew Hawke, Leliana only knew Hawke before Hawke goes to Kirkwall.

Leliana can meet Hawke twice, during Sebastian's Act III quest and Mark of the Assassin. There's no indication that they ever met when Leliana was in Lothering.

Hawke meets Leliana in Kirkwall if you have the Exiled Prince DLC, and at the Chateau Haine if you have Mark of the Assassin, since she attends the party.

EDIT: Blast, ninja'd by none other than the prophetess reborn.

I said "possibly," which is based on cut dialogue from DA2 which seems to indicate a connection between the two.

Leliana and Hawke meet in The Exiled Prince and Mark of the Assassin.

Bethany hints that she knew Leiliana pretty well, I think. Which is strange, since I see good reason for Bethany to be careful around anyone with any particular loyalty to the Chantry.

"have Hawke look appropriate/gender via customization"

Yeah thats pretty vague; "look appropriate" doesn't necessarily mean "customize". Sounds like he is playing a word game there.

Do you remember where Bethany does this? I probably didn't have her in my party at the appropriate times - I don't think I've ever had her with me on MotA (although I really should have) and by the time Lelianna shows up in Sebastian's quest, she's long gone.

I don't recall Bethany talking about knowing Leliana, but Aveline seems to have known her...

Now THAT'S awesome - I don't think I ever got that dialogue! Also I love Aveline so much; she's got no time for your trickster shenanigans.

It's probably something out of Knights of the Old Republic II where if you go to Varric and talk with him, he'll give a description of Hawke which is where the game will pulled away and allow you to customize their gender and look.

....

Yeah, I know KOTOR II wasn't made by Bioware, still a damn good game.

^This. When I first saw MLs tweet I took it to mean that by inputting your world-state info across both previous games, DAI would provide a Hawke (and HoF if relevant) that matches the gender and class of your previous games. So a female Mage Hawke and a Female Cousland Rogue for me, for instance. But the actual look if the character would be generic. I'm even more inclined to expect this if the Keep asks you broad appearance questions like skin tone, hair/eye color and these choices affect which available version you get. I'm actually fine with something like that because I care more about veracity of story than appearance of any number if Hawkes or Wardens I played.

But, hey, I'd happily be totally wrong and we do get to tweak prior PCs with a CC at some point! I'm cool with either.

[Disclaimer: I'm one of the sad-pandas that hasn't made it into the DA Keep beta, ((*sobs*)) so I have no idea what they do or don't ask about prior protagonist appearance]

And if you weren't one of the sad pandas, you couldn't talk about it. ;)

They've stated categorically that the Keep will not have a character creator, however.

That's what i heard as well, if needed i'll post the article they said that in, unless they are liars like Zenimax with ESO, "Play with your Friends", that was crap, bc of phasing, with questing.

Here's a scenario:

The Inquisitor might have a dream about Hawke, but not know it's Hawke. Then he or she will describe this person (Hawke), via the same character creator used for the Inquisitor, to someone (such as Varric or Cullen, who both met Hawke) in the Inquisition (who will presumably recognize it was Hawke being described).

That's more Bethesda and pokemon's style. I think it'll just be in the menu when you start.

And I would gladly sign my name and seal my lips/stay my typing fingers! :wizard:

Yes, I know. I meant some very basic "select an option" for just a couple of key factors about your protagonist to go along with gender/class and/or race, [eg a few options that determine skin tone and hair/eye color] not an actual CC in the Keep ;) just my thought of a route to go outside of using the CC in game.

I do hope that if we do get to use the in-game CC to fully customize one or both previous protagonist that it either happen at the very beginning or during a "let me tell you about Hawke" type convo with a Companion instead if throwing in a CC screen just before the CoK or HoF make their entrance. I like knowing they'll be around but I'd rather not have the surprise timing if the moment spoiled, if that makes sense,

they have said we would be able to customize our hawke to look like well .. our hawke .
I'm assuming it will happen at the start when we customize the inquisitor which makes sense as why they showed hawke in the trailer so it wasn't like bam create what ur hawke looks like for no reason

I always used default Hawke appearance because let's be honest Without mods no one can make a better looking Hawke then the default appearance

I'm expecting it will happen at the beginning of the game since Hawke has been shown in a trailer so it's not like them being in is spoilers anymore.

I have to disagree with you Nightwing. I made a couple good looking Hawkes better than the default. My own opinion cause I find the woman I modeled after sexier. :)  I wont post her pic without her consent.

It is a random comment Bethany makes when you bring her to the Chantry in Kirkwall. "I miss the Lothering Chantry. Sister Leliana told the best stories." You can't bring her to meet Leliana in DLC, unfortunately.
