I used to make kill stealing jokes, until I tried running a melee krogan sentinel in a match with a few really good BSNers...

they wouldnt let me build rage, STOP STEALING MY KILLS.

they received no headbutts from me, they were unworthy, and should have been eaten

Gets extra funny when you can't even build up martial artist buff. Yes, sometimes it's just that bad :P

I was playing a Flamer-less melee Vorcha Sentinel one day and a Krogan Vanguard kept screaming down the mic that it was my fault he kept dying because I was stealing his kills and Krogans need Rage to survive. You can imagine how many f*cks I didn't give.

That's a bit contradicting. So he needs rage to survive... but he kept dying and now he's raging? Lol! I know what you meant, but it was funny to me.

There is a certain point at which it gets counterproductive to be trying to kill the same thing when you could both be killing different things at the same time, instead of overkilling one thing.

Thank you that is just my point,if they call out for help, then help otherwise go kill a different spawn but really it all depends on if you pug or run with friends, with friends you get better death squads always fun!!!

I usually just shoot the biggest threat in the crosshairs.  Guys take my kills, I take others' kills, I just play the objectives.  If I see the team leaving me to do the objectives while they rack kills, I'll be less helpful in future waves.  I've never given a "bad review" to others for Mass Effect, only in GTA or Battlefield.

I played one in which a guy went beserk when I played a Shadow and accidently took a guy he meant to grab.  I was mid warp when I saw him grab the baddie.  I thought he was going to have a stroke and he just shot at me the whole game, which cause him to die.

I played with a guy like that a week ago on Jade. Only thing he and the other three did was spend time on the lower level while I was up on the top floor killing things (obviously I was hiding there like a coward, lol). Occasionally I'd kill something on the lower floor and killed a few targets he was trying to melee. He went really mad and went on and on about how he was going to hack kick me after the game. Like I would have stayed anyway but it was lolworthy listening to him rage and telling everyone to leave his melee kills alone.

Lol. I'm an ******* most of the time, a lovable one but an ass nonetheless. Most of the time when I try to be nice I get the most colorful messages back.

I sent one PUG: "GG. We need space for a friend. Thx."

I get back: "**** yourself, and go die in a fire."

Moral of the story is you got to watch yourself on the mean streets of lolecksbawks.

When I play, I'm usually the first guy to an objective, I revive players when I can, and i've never kicked someone from my lobby. Yet still, 30% of the people I've played with said I was "unsporting". What they really meant to click was "I'm butt-hurt over being outscored in a co-op game".

Don't let it bother you. The rating really means nothing. Play in whatever style you enjoy.

I think you were just unlucky (or just an ass). I'll never kick someone to make room for a friend so I've sent that same message dozens of times and they've been cool about it every time. Usually get a GG back from them, too.

But anytime you meet someone like that just Google 'Call of Duty' and 'Rage' and you'll soon realize just how good the ME3 community is.

There are only two times I purposefully don't kill something (only on Platinum) and that's whatever a melee puggernault is trying to kill when they are surrounded or being pummeled by Primes/Ravengers/etc. The other is for a Krolord that hasn't heavy melee'd something for awhile and I notice. Otherwise everything is fair game.

I belong to this old kind of gamers who played Sonic, Mortal Kombat 1st of its name, Mario Kart, Alex Kid... on Mega Drive, Master System en Super Nintendo (I even sometimes watch videos of retrogaming on youtube... And I can live with it B) ).

Even if I've had an XBOX 360 for nearly 5 years, this reputation thing is quite weird to me. My "fear" was that these 66 % of bad reputation would have put me aside on the MP, meaning that the money I spent for my 3 months live would have been thrown in the bin.

I know this thread may look naive to other members, but I really thought that the most part of the gamers community played for fun (as I do), rather than for bullying those who outscore them (I've got 5855 challenge points, 1884 N7 level, but I sometimes get outscored by shorttimers with 125 points and 50 N7, and it does not bother me at all).

I really sympathise with you, I went through all the same stuff cause I cared about teamwork, etc. I still care, but I play a

Juggernaut 99% of the time so I have to look at things differently. (a higher perspective?) My slowness allows me to size up

the action as I approach and either blow every thing up or just shoot a few for support. I didn't read what level you play, but once you get away from Bronze you have to shoot everything as fast as possible, if you pause to see if a Krogan is winding up he can be killed. (been there!) It is all about team points, the few who complain will stop it after puberty. The best advice I was given when I asked these newb questions was this is a ..game... have fun..ignore the peasants.

What is this "rep" garbage?....i didn't know what OP was talking about until i heard it's on the xbox....even if this was present on the ps3 (what i have), why would anybody care about a rep system? Play the game the way you want to. There is no such thing as kill-stealing...you need to kill enemies as fast as you can or another enemy can creep up from behind and possibly sync-kill you or some other enemy can come about and take you out.

There are a couple of things i do that kinda reflect your actions..

- i do try to wait for the host ready up...meaning i will go to green, but if the host isn't ready, then i will switch back to red and wait. i just hate starting the game without the host being ready, because most times when that happens, the host ends up being kicked due to him not moving or doing anything and then we go thru that host migration and half the time i lose my consumeables when i go thru that....:pinched:....so i'd rather just wait for the host to ready up or if he/she is taking too long i'll just find another lobby.

- Kill Stealing...i don't really pay attention to this, but only on two occassions do i really take notice...if i see a juggy heavy meleeing something i will let him have at it (except phantoms..i have to kill them no matter what  ) and if i see a batarian trying to falcon punch something, i will let him knock whatever head it is he's trying to knock off...everything else is fair game and your are only helping your teammates by waxing everything in sight.

In an ideal world, Rep would have been a way to recognize good players who participate in an MP game as intended, using teamwork and being respectful. The problem is, there's no way to filter or validate feedback for players, so the system is easily abused by try-hards and general a$$ holes who will leave negative feedback for people with no good reason. Because of that, a players rep is now largely ignored.

The other purpose it serves for xbox is that once you leave bad feedback for someone, they get put on your "avoid player" list so you wouldn't have to play with them again.
