I want the über loot to be the strongest weapon, so when I play a New Game+, I will be able to go around and roflstomping everyone.

Like that mace we got from beating the Harvester on hard or nightmare difficulty? I think most people sold it though...

I love old-school Squaresoft optional bosses something fierce. I don't know that I'd say they always gave good rewards, though. FFVIII's Omega Weapon dropped a certificate telling you that you beat it, FFVII's Ruby Weapon dropped a Desert Rose good to exchange for a really low-stat gold chocobo, Ozma dropped FFIX's eighth Protect Ring, FFX hosted a wide array of optionals without much reward... 

 

Still, though, it's nice that they were all in there, and sometimes they really did give out plenty. I miss that dearly.

Maybe I just thought it was good back in the day lol. More likely I was associating the fighting of the superbosses with other random quests I was doing at the same time that don't involve combat but hare hidden/hard to get and give you really good spells/equipment/summons/etc...(and they should totally combine those things) Either way I really like the challenge of huge, unique, and very difficult bosses! I like it as much as I hate the monotony and time wasting of endless easy trash mobs (especially in DA2).
