Who would you place as your Inquisition's second-in-command?

We all know that you, the Inquisitor, will be placed at the helm of the inquisition. However, what about when you're away doing, well, "inquisiting"? Who makes sure that order is kept at Skyhold and that the daily routines are maintained? Who's going to make sure that ale is refilled at the fort tavern?

More seriously, if you had to separate your companions into two groups (ala Mass Effect 2), who would you put in charge of Team Bravo? Almost all of our companions (except for Cole and kinda Varric) have experience with leadership. My choice would probably be Cassandra, since she's loyal to the Inquisition and an experienced leader. Her devotion to the Chantry does concern me though. If she turns out to be too devout and in conflict with my beliefs, I'd nominate Blackwall since he's a commanding Grey Warden and motivated by helping others more than any religious beliefs.

Who would you trust as your first lieutenant? It can be of the companions, advisers, or any of the other NPCs we know about.

Given how we haven't spent any time with any of 'em yet, how can we say? Some might surprise with their leadership capabilities, in both good and bad ways.

Sandal will be my enforcer.

He'll pull a Columbo. Everyone will underestimate him, and then when they try to storm my Keep, he'll turn them all to stone.

Of course this is true. I'm saying, based on what we know, who do you think you'd trust to lead in your name. Obviously, when the game comes out, we'll know who would be best for sure, but since we still have three months, this is mostly just a fun idea to bounce around with other DA fans.

The only other Qunari of course.

Iron Bull for Vice-Inquisitor!

Cassandra is probably the most qualified but I plan to take her with me so....

...it may be hilarious to put Sera in charge and see what remains when I get back.

I'd find Anders and put him in charge. He's a very stable-minded, down to earth kinda guy.

That or I'd make Sera and Cole joint lead while I'm gone, they will probably get along great. : D

I'd say Solas, but he of course wouldn't have interest in such things. The others either have their own crap to sort or not trustworthy, like, at all.

Probably Cassandra since she was a Seeker before the Inquisition was formed.  She seems to be the one who was in charge before  the Inquisitor joins, and I don't see the need to rock the boat. (my first Inquisitor doesn't have a radical agenda like some I've heard of...)

I would also go for Cassandra. She's experienced and she seems reliable.

Sure. In that case, I can only throw my support towards Cassandra right now.

Hmm. I don't know any of the new companions but if I could have anyone in Thedas (assuming s/he was loyal to me in this scenario.)

It would be... Irving, Bethany Hawke or Aveline.

Likely Cassandra for the reasons mentioned above. She's experienced and was commanding larger forces before. Not to mention her no-bullshit personality :)

When she is in the field though it'll be a tougher call. I'm thinking about leaving it to the trio of my advisers. All of them seem to compliment each other well enough and all seem to be experienced (Not sure about Josephine).

If I had to choose 1 person from remaining companions it'd probably be one of the two:

Vivienne - She's effective enough to get to the rank of First Enchanter in the time of turmoil and from her character background it seems that she'll be able to handle plotting and planning quite well. Her lack of military expertise might be an issue though.
Blackwall - Something about him just speaks "mentor" to me. He definitely has experience fighting unwavering foe (darkspawn) and knowledge about squad combat. Plus he seems "moral" and not ready to jump to conclusions. Probably my top choice out of the two.

Was considering Iron Bull cause of his battle experience but I question his diplomatic skills. Plus there's the issue of his PTSD.

If I go by this, then either Varric (we know he deals with the underworld and has good contacts (even to wealthier citizens)) or Cassandra - she is part of nobility (thus she has the education and knowledge I would like a leader to have), she has combat experience (having someone who does not sending my people to fight and possibly die in the process is not something I like), she is a templar (knows how to deal with mages - note: I would only be worried that she might offend them (and kill them) on purpose...but I don't trust Vivienne, Solas or Dorian to lead (at least not yet...), so it has to be her) and she is a seeker (meaning she is one of the best the templars had to offer - remember: Seekers are elite templars, chosen to watch how the templars act and police them...and they are agents of the divine who can act clandestinely, too so her leading spies is not a problem either)

greetings LAX

My Dwarven Berserker will leave Varric in charge.  Or maybe that sexy female Dwarf from the demo.

Cassandra, then Cullen, then Josephine.

Varric might be a good choice, but a) he'd hate the job, and B) there will never be a time after he's recruited when he isn't in my party.

Second in command?

This is a Bioware RPG. There's the Player Character, and then there's the subordinates who exist to slavishly fulfill the PC's directives. Autonomous opinion and dissent are killing offenses on these boards, so what's the point in pretending and calling someone a second in command?

Out of the companions, I'd go with Cassandra. Although, I'm probably going to bring her with me alot.

I can't see anyone else being able to lead a multipurpose organization like this though.

I imagine the Organization will have something like the Wardens. Freldan and Orlais will have there own Inquisitor-Commander.

At base:

1.) Cassandra

2.) Advisors

3.) Varric

If none of the above are available, then I'd expect my military officers to keep order until one of the above or myself (the Inquisitor) returns.

In the field:

1.) Cassandra

2.) Blackwall

3.) Iron Bull

If none of the above are available, then... well, whoever volunteers I guess.
