I'd pick Cassandra or Blackwall for field leadership.

Cullen to be in command of the Keep.

I'd pick either (in order of preference) Cassandra, Blackwall or Vivienne.

We don't know enough about them yet for me to make a decision but probably Solas, maybe Vivienne. Someone with a good head on their shoulders who would take it seriously and be able to handle the pressure.

Normally I'd say Dorian as he is my LI but he'll be with me all playthrough. Hmmm, I'd say Vivienne. She'd challenge me and my views of anti chantry and circle when it comes to the Inquisition.

As it stands now: Cassandra

Even though she might automatically be the second in command

In the unlikely event we are asked to delegate, I'm looking for the one with leadership experience who puts him or herself forward least. This is why Miranda never got any positions of responsibility from me.

"I can do it Shepard."

"I can do it Shepard."

"I can do it Shepard"

Shut up, Miranda. You want it too much.

Cassanda-always would kill her if i have a option

Cullen-always would kill him if i have a option

lelianna-always would kill him if i have a option

Cole-always would kill him if i have a option

Josephine-i would prefer to kill her because she is Lelianna friend and Antivan, but i recruit her and use her, would never listen or respect her and kill her if she go against me

Iron Bull-the same as with Sten i would prefer to kill him but i recruit him and use him before he would betray me for Qunari

Viviene-recruit,  but never listen or respect her and kill her if she go against me

Dorian- i would prefer to kill him but i recruit him and use him, would never listen or respect him and kill him if he go against me

Varrick-recruit

Sera-recruit, be friend want to romance her but she is a lesbian

Solas-recruit, be friend

Blackwall-recruit, be friend

i will put Solas and Blackwall in command who are perfect for this...Sera, Varrick is not have any skills for such things so they would be good only as sidekicks

i do not trust Vivienne so even if she would have some skills she never be placed as commander of something in Inquisition, so she would be sidekick as Varrick and Sera

actually my elven/kossith male battle blood mage Inquisitor does not need any advisors(especially those what we forced to have and who is the worst for this jobs for many reasons, especially Cullen) and second in command and many of companions

but if he really would need to choose, so he will would choose Solas and Blackwall(if he must choose only one he will choose Solas and make Blackwall his military adviser/general)

if my Inquisitor will really need a advisers he would choose

1)military adviser/general=Blackwall-he is the only and perfect candidate for being general of our troops...Cullen is worst, Cass is not much better that Cullen..Bull is not skilled and have problems, not talking about trust

2)political adviser/Ambassador=Solas, Varrick, Blackwall

3)spy advisor/Agent/Assasin=Varrick. Sera..and yeah Solas because he is somniary and he  is by being in fade is able to spy on everyone and even kill when someone sleep

I'm not sure yet, everything screams Cass being automatically second-in-command, but i'll have to play the game in order to decide. Also like someone said here, it depends on the Inquisitor of your choice.

That being said if I have to choose, it would be Leliana.

Depends on the Inquisitor but my first one Adessa would go with....

Varric or Cassandra for sure.

Varric because he's loyal and has his way of handling things along with contacts to back it up.

Cassandra because she's a strong and able, someone to rely on.

I'd probably choose Cassandra, though I'd be so tempted to leave Cole in charge just to see what sort of weirdness happened while I was gone

I'd prefer someone neutral who doesn't let their views or bias get in the way of making practical decisions while I'm gone, so I'd say Varric or Solas. They might not have much leadership experience, but this is temporary, and they are both shown as intelligent and capable. And are probably the least likely to start up **** with others while I'm gone. btw, this is my serious response as opposed to my last one

It seems a pretty easy call to put Leliana in charge, that's definitely what I'd do.  She's awesome, she's brilliant, she's loyal and talented and she has all the right values and principles that I'd want in my Inquisition decision-making.  I'm hoping to be able to put her at the head of the chantry at some point, but until that happens I'd definitely want her as my second in command in the Inquisition.

Something tells me that this may be a bad idea. I have a vision. Something involving an Ogre and some guy in gold armor getting squished like an empty beer can.

Can't place it, though.

It was a bad idea in the first place for that guy in the gold armor to be in the situation he put himself in.

However, what about when you're away doing, well, "inquisiting"? Who makes sure that order is kept at Skyhold and that the daily routines are maintained? Who's going to make sure that ale is refilled at the fort tavern?

Lots of people. The quarter master and his or her assistants, guards to maintain order - a guard commander who organises their low level activities if necessary. Justice can wait for me to get back if we're going to be going for that sort of thing.

Any high level commander who cripples her colleagues by continually intervening in their day to day activities, rather than attempting to give high level guidance that over time allows them to develop to make good decisions in line with overarching goals, is setting herself up for a world of hurt.

Who would you trust as your first lieutenant? It can be of the companions, advisers, or any of the other NPCs we know about.

Based on what little I know of them at the moment, Iron Bull. He seems the least likely to have politically dangerous pre-existing interests.

But that'd only be if I had to pick. Stepping back from the fact it's a game for a moment: In my experience, when you have a group of people who know what they're doing on a task, leadership's one of those things that circulates as people decide to push subtasks out themselves and end up leading, or someone gets tagged for the unfortunate duty of running communications among the group and taking care of the house keeping tasks.

In the former case, you trade off the efficiency of action you gain from strict high level control in return for a more fluid response to new information. The influencing factors there seem to be situational awareness, force mobility, a common background of training or experience so that they can predict what the others are going to do, and the quality of the personnel in terms of making good decision based on the information they have. You can't have everyone in a musket line taking advantage of opportunities as they become aware of them because the guy eight to their right doesn't see it and won't back them up.

Interestingly, if those qualities are great enough - say the situation changes very rapidly - you can get into a situation where expanding the size of a group assigned to a particular task makes performance on that task worse: The speed that the information can be propagated and assessed by the group as a whole goes down. You've got more force, but your OODA loop is large and that force is being applied less efficiently.

In the case of my Inquisition, where you have a small number of high quality troops as your mission team, I'd expect them to learn to work together to the extent that I didn't need to dub someone as, 'In charge.' If it was a real group I was taking out, rather than people in a game, I'd actively rotate the team composition to give people experience working together in the field.

Varric.

He's not going to do something stupid.
