I like Varric and everything but...he isn't a military leader. I'm not putting someone in charge just because I like them.

Certainly, not Cassandra and even less Cullen. I don't want any templars or seekers as my second in command. If they don't like it, there is the door.

Probably Cullen, he's been through many hardships and witnessed some pivotal moments in dragon age. I would hope that he has grown and learned much from these experiences which will help him to make rational decisions. His military background is a plus too.
