I overheard a commentator say that heads were going to be rolling soon at the Chicago Bears. Anyone need a job?
I'm doing better with my picks this week. I'm at 9-3 so far.
Also, a note about Arizona quarterback Carson Palmer's injury. He may have a torn ACL...

Sunday 11/9, Here's some scores for you:
*snip*
Dallas Cowboys beat Jacksonville Jaguars, 31 to 17
Tony Romo was playing, but I wonder about the pain he must be in. He is still healing 2 fractured transverse process in his back from week 8. Playing like this was brave but also foolhardy, IMHO.
*snip*
That's not brave it's stupid.

From what I understand they're still bad. ![]()

sure, a great young QB, a ton of other promising rookies, decent draft picks for next year and the money to go after good free agents, it sure sucks to be a Raiders fan ![]()

Are you supposed to sleep through porn?
Haven't watched the Packers game (really only caught the last couple minutes of the 49ers vs Saints because I tripped over a stream), but maybe it was so boring he fell asleep and had a wet football dream instead? It would accomodate both perspectives.

That's not brave it's stupid.
Note that I used the word "foolhardy" along with "brave". And yes, I agree it seems very short-sighted for Tony Romo to take that kind of risk with his back. Another player I worry about is the Jet's Michael Vick. He has a habit of getting concussions. I can't help but admire the self sacrifice and tolerance for discomfort these players often show, but this is only a game(albeit a rich one). Life and health should be first, ego and money last.

Monday night 11/10, final score for week 10:
Philadelphia Eagles beat Carolina Panthers, 45 to 21
The Eagle's offense was said to be too fast for the referees to track. Sorry, Panthers...

10-3 for the previous week
Thursday night
Buffalo over Miami
Sunday
Bears over Vikings
Houston over Cleveland
Seattle over KC
Carolina over Atlanta. I believe for the Panthers to get in the playoffs, they need to win the rest of their games and have the Saints lose 4 of their last 6 games which at this point doesn't seem likely. After Monday's poor performance, the Carolina defense has allowed more points this far than all of last season. Come on Panthers. Lets get it together.
my upset pick --- Bengals over Saints
Washington over Tampa Bay
Denver over Rams
49er's over Giants
Chargers over Raiders
Green Bay over Philly. This will be a close game. I picked the Packers because I like to see the Cowboys win their division instead of the Eagles
Cardinals over Lions
Colts over Patriots --- If the game was being played at Foxboro, I would likely choose New England
Monday night
Steelers over Titans

Oh, is it that time now?
Last week: 8-4
Dolphins over Bills -- 'Fins offense has been clicking and defense should have no real problem against Orton at QB.
Chicago over Minnesota -- Bears will look for redemption and should feel confident about getting it over a weak Vikings squad.
Houston over Cleveland -- Not real high on Mallet, but their gameplan should be simple: avoid turnovers and run Foster FTW.
KC over Seattle -- Seattle is not what it was last year and is even less impressive on the road.
Carolina over Atlanta -- Loss of talent from last season is showing for Carolina, but Atlanta barely held off McCown-led Bucs.
Cincy over New Orleans -- Bengals are not as bad as they looked last week IMO. Win continues an inconsistent overall season.
Washington over Tampa Bay -- Dunno WTF Lovie is doing; Tampa is playing far below its roster talent. Worse than Oakland, IMO.
Denver over St. Louis -- With the way Denver is playing and preparing every week, St. Louis should not be a hiccup for them.
San Fran over NYG -- Neither team is very good, but 9ers D should put them in position to win when needed.
Chargers over Oakland -- Off a bye after an ugly loss, Rivers and the 'Bolts should look to straighten things out against easy prey.
Green Bay over Philadelphia -- Eagles can compete with Sanchez, but Rodgers is just deadly at home.
Detroit over Arizona -- Stanton will bomb here, because helping GB reclaim their spot atop NFCN would be too much to ask. >=[
Pats over Indy -- Luck, while impressive this season, has been a bit careless with the football. Against Pats D, that will cost Indy.
Stillers over Titans -- Two QBs with last names ending in "berger" go at it. Who even cares about score? It's Battle of the Burgers!
*edit* forgot TNF.

Miami Dolphins(5-4) over Buffalo Bills(5-4)
Minnesota Vikings(4-5) over Chicago Bears(3-6)
Cleveland Browns(6-3) over Houston Texans(4-5)
Atlanta Falcons(3-6) over Carolina Panthers(3-6-1)
New Orleans Saints(4-5) over Cincinnati Bengals(5-3-1)
Washington Redskins(3-6) over Tampa Bay Buccaneers(1-8)
Denver Broncos(7-2) over St. Louis Rams(3-6)
San Francisco 49ers(5-4) over New York Giants(3-6)
Seattle Seahawks(6-3) over Kansas City Chiefs(6-3)
San Diego Chargers(5-4) over Oakland Raiders(0-9)
Arizona Cardinals(8-1) over Detroit Lions(7-2)
Philadelphia Eagles(7-2) over Green Bay Packers(6-3)
New England Patriots(7-2) over Indianapolis Colts(6-3)
Pittsburgh Steelers(6-4) over (Tennessee Titans(2-7)
I went 10-3 on my picks last week and I noticed a lot of other people improved on their picks too. On week 11 we have a lot of games between teams who have had occasional winning streaks or brilliant upsets interspersed with mediocre playing and downright humiliation. I am finding it harder this week to anticipate who's going to be on a high and who is going to fizzle. If I change my picks, I'll do it well before game time tomorrow. I'll add some more comments later.

St. Louis is the weakest team on that list, though I would not consider them an easy match-up, and it's at their home.
Denver might not have anything to play for in Week 17 and could rest a lot of their starters, while Oakland would fight not to finish 0-16 if they have not won a game by then, but it still might not be enough. Brutal schedule for a bad team.

8-5 last week; I'm actually getting worse at this, strangely enough.
Let's hope it goes better this time:
Dolphins over Bills: I think the Dolphins have a little more on offense in what is basically an elimination game for these teams.
Vikings over Bears: It's easy to pick on the Bears at this point, but hey, I like doing easy things.
Browns over Texans: Looks like Joe Haden is getting back into his Pro Bowl form, which could be bad news for untested Ryan Mallett.
Saints over Bengals: I don't trust either of these teams at all, but I'll go with the Saints because of the ability of the Bengals offense to utterly disappear at the most inopportune moments. Even when the Saints are bad, they can still score.
Washington over the Buccaneers: It's the Bucs. That's all I have to say.
Broncos over Rams: Don't think the Rams will provide much resistance to Manning and company.
49ers over Giants: Last week doesn't necessarily mean that the 49ers are back to what they were the last few years (especially with Patrick Willis out for the season), but they're good enough to beat the Giants.
Chiefs over Seahawks: I'm starting to believe these Chiefs (especially with the Chargers sputtering). The Seahawks' offense can still at times, especially on the road.
Chargers over Raiders: The Chargers are struggling, but they're also coming off a bye against the worst team in the league.
Lions over Cardinals: The Lions' defense should be able to shut down Drew Stanton and company.
Packers over Eagles: Not confident at all about this one, but my rule for the whole season has been "When in doubt, go with Rodgers."
Patriots over Colts: This could be a relatively high scoring affair, but I think the Pats will lead throughout.
Steelers over Titans: Last week showed us that we should never underestimate the Steelers' ability to play down to the level of their opposition, but this Titans team just seems too lifeless to take advantage; of course, I would have said that about the Jets last week too, but it seems pretty obvious that Pittsburgh's the favorite.
