nope, i was just betting on them to win when no one else was ![]()
i am however partial to the Vikings, mostly because of Teddy Bridgewater ![]()
Went 9-4 last week, but missed Thursday's picks. Anywho...
Dallas over Chi-town: Bears just do not have an answer to all the weapons on the Cowboys' offense, I think.
Steelers over Bengals: it is just so hard to pinpoint the Steelers on any given week; this week I am just going with the opposite of what I expect.
Rams over Redskins: tough defensive matchup should negate Washington's new-QB advantage.
Giants over Titans: two pretty equally-mediocre squads, but I think NYG has the clear talent lean.
Saints over Panthers: looks like NO is taking back the division.
Jets over Vikings: this will be an ugly game, I think, but I expect the Jets' D to give the rookie QB fits.
Dolphins over Ravens: on the road after a heart-breaking loss, Ravens are a tough sell here.
Colts over Browns: despite getting the start, Hoyer has been rather poor for the past four weeks.
Lions over Bucs: ... what can I say? This is arguably the league's worst starting-QB facing arguably the league's best defense.
Texans over Jags: with help from their strong D, the Texans' lack of a legitimate starting QB should not be an issue.
Broncos over Bills: Buffalo certainly has the defense to match-up, but the Orton-led offense is unlikely to do enough to pull a win.
Chiefs over Cardinals: there's a reason Stanton is not starting in this league, folks.
Seattle over Philadelphia: the running game will decide the winner, and I expect Seattle to benefit from some opportune turnovers.
Oakland over SanFran: do not ask.
San Diego over New England: Chargers are equipped to replicate the Packers' winning strategy over New England.
Packers over Falcons: ATL has been hot as of late, but upsets of this magnitude do not typically come on Primetime.
9-7 for the previous week

I'll pick Dallas over Chicago right now; other picks will be coming later in the week (it's a pretty tough slate of games this week; I'll have to think about them a bit more).
As long as the Pats or Cowgirls don't win, I'm good.
It was good to see Dallas overcome their poor performance on Thanksgiving to beat Chicago. I need Seattle to beat Philly on Sunday so that both Cowboys and Eagles will be tied in their division even though I picked Philly to win
Cincinatti over Pittsburgh: Very little confidence in this pick (especially with how high-variance Pittsburgh has been), but I think Cincy's going to win this game and take this division.
Indianapolis over Cleveland: Since losing Alex Mack, the Browns have lost their identity; what can they really hang their hat on in terms of passing, running, defending, etc.?
Detroit over Tampa Bay: Hard to see Tampa Bay scoring much over this Lions D.
NYG over Tennessee: On the one hand, the Giants (along with the Ravens) have probably burned me more than any other team on these picks, but on the other hand, picking against Tennessee has been my most reliable strategy.
Baltimore over Miami: Yep, picking the Ravens again. They're evenly matched, but what tips the balance for me is that Miami doesn't have the ability to exploit the Ravens' biggest weakness, which is their vulnerability to the deep ball.
Minnesota over NYJ: The Jets just aren't any good.
New Orleans over Carolina: This could be one of those divisional games that turns out surprisingly close (and the Saints actually have not been great at home this year), but I can't pick the Panthers in good conscience with the way they've been playing.
Houston over Jacksonville: A fluky win over the Giants is not going to change my mind about what Jacksonville is as a team.
Kansas City over Arizona: Minor upset pick here; Arizona can't seem to get anything going offensively, and KC's dink-and-dunk passing game might be a good way to play against the strength of AZ, which is its secondary.
SF over Oakland: Does this require any explanation at all?
Seattle over Philly: What Mark Sanchez has done so far has been impressive (especially considering the legacy he left with the Jets), but I don't expect him to be turnover-free against the Legion of Boom.
New England over San Diego: Just think that NE's the more complete team.
Green Bay over Atlanta: Despite a surprising win over the Cardinals, they're not in the same league as the Packers in any area of the game.
About time Carolina gets their offense working. Hopefully that will continue for the rest of the season and with a lot of help win the division
Oakland Raiders beat San Francisco 49ers, 24 to 13
the biggest surprise of the day
the biggest surprise of the day
Not to toot my own horn, but after the 9ers scored only 3 against Seattle, I expected Oakland to smell blood in the water -- I picked the Raiders this week. Biggest shocker for me was NO getting embarrassed by Carolina -- at home, no less. Was not expecting that.
I can't believe the Giants won today, I've nearly forgotten how it feels.
And OBJ should win the ORoY on NFL Honors...

Since my team is the Panthers, I wasn't surprised. About time Carolinas offense made some noise and their defense played like they did last season. Not sure if it will be enough to win the division. Only time will tell. They need for Atlanta and New Orleans to play badly for the rest of the season and Carolina to win the rest of their games
