The NFL has a lot of rules about taunting and when Manning got into the face of the other player the ref threw a flag . It was a bit of a weak taunt but pre season has been full of flags .

I wouldn't read too much into preseason records. Teams generally aren't running their full complement of offensive and defensive schemes even when the starters are out there. When the Detroit Lions had their historic 0-16 season in 2008, they went 4-0 in the preseason.

Hey, it's not as bad as changing your name to Peyton Manning (although IIRC a county judge prevented the fan in question from following through on the name change, so I guess he's lucky).

Against the Arizona Cardinals in week 16. Arizona QB Carson Palmer threw four interceptions in that game, and they still won. Needless to say, it was pretty ugly stuff to watch.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was reading an article last night that mentioned the Washington Redskins back in 1982 not winning any preseason games at all and taking the superbowl that same year.
