I look at it that when a quarterback has the ball in his hand, it is a fumble whether his arm is going forward or not.

There is another rule I don't get. If the ball touches the goal line its a touchdown. Why isn't it  called out of bounds when the ball is out of bounds when the player catches the ball even though the players feet are in bounds?

Another one is spiking the ball by the quarterback. I would call a delay of game penalty for that.

But that's just me. It doesn't stop me from enjoying football.

The NFL rulebook is about 3 times the size of FIFA's. I'm glad fans don't have to have an in depth understanding to follow the action.

This weeks games

Sea vs GB    The Hawks were awesome on both sides of the ball and easily the best looking team last weekend . I think they will be able to run the ball down the Packers throat all game . The Packers  have Aaron playing on one leg and that spells big trouble for them . The Packers D has been average to poor all year so every thing will be on the Offense to win the game ...... but i am a homer so Packers .

NE vs Indy  I would love to see Luck win his first SB and i didn`t think the rest of the team was good enough to win last week . They played very well on both sides of the ball but Luck will have to play better this week to win . The Pats have Brady and he is playing some good football at the end . I don`t know if Indy has anyone to match against Gronk ( who does ? ) . My heart says Indy ( i will be going for them ) but my head says the evil empire ( NE ) will win .

I have a question for you all , with Manning crashing and burning again .

If your team drafts an elite QB Like a Manning / Brady / Luck how many SB`s do you think is enough not to waste his talent ?

When i look a Manning or Brees one isn`t enough . As a Packer fan one wasn`t enough when we had Favre and one isn`t enough for Rodgers career either . I think i would need at least two SB`s . I know the days of Montana and Bradshaw`s four are over .

So what do you think ?

Quarterback Marcus Mariota of the Oregon Ducks has declared for the 2015 NFL draft. If you watched Oregon beat FSU 59 to 20 at the Rose Bowl this New Years, you know who I'm talking about. Do you think his skills will fit NFL football?

Colin Kaepernick clone. Skills are not in question, just the ability to run an offense and read defenses at the next level.

John Fox becomes headcoach for the Chicago Bears

http://espn.go.com/c...-john-fox-coach

Um... decent hire, I guess? Fox is a nice defensive mind and therein could really help Chicago where they are weak. But dat QB, doe.

Bigger news IMO is Todd Bowles hired by New York Jets. And with Rex Ryan staying in conference, AFCE is going to have some scary defenses.

Marino had 0.

It's a team game at the end of the day. I get why one would want to see SuperBowl wins on a QB's resume, but that is a misleading stat to look at in a vacuum.

I just wonder if T-Rich would have been more effective if he did not put on some much mass. Agility was a big part of his game in college and he has not looked the same since he added some pounds in the NFL.

But yeah, Cleveland really fleeced the Colts on that trade, though choosing him 3rd overall in the draft was not exactly wise of them either...

Remember all the pieces that need to fit together to make an elite quarterback effective. Providing a team has enough other elite players to support this elite quarterback (wide receivers, running backs, etc.), you'd have to consider how many other teams in the NFL are playing very good football in the same given stretch of years and you might be able to come up with a number.
Edit: After thinking on this more, consider of all the weird things that can happen to make a team win or lose a game. Is it reasonable to expect X number of SB wins of an elite team? Being an elite player on an elite team only increases the team's odds of winning SBs. Is an individual player's talent wasted? Only if they didn't do their best.

^Pretty much. I couldn't care less how many SB's a quarterback wins. Hell even in the NBA which is driven by all time greats more than any other sport you still need other great players to win championships. And that's with twelve man rosters not fifty. But then again I'm the guy that finds these Brady/Manning debates hilarious because they are basically the same guy.

Finally a touchdown!

Seattle needs to run the ball tho. If they can't do that well then I'm really liking Green Bay's chances. Knock on wood.
