What are you talking about? nobody was paid off, everyone was recording practices the patriots where just the ones who got caught after the league told all the clubs to knock it off. So lets knock off the whining already. I'm really tired of hearing this.

Patriots are now leading 30 to 7 with less than 4 minutes left to the 3rd quarter. I was hoping this game wouldn't be so lopsided. If the Colts are going to get down to business, they'd better do it soon.

I have to admit Katie I was hoping for a Greenbay victory today. I'm not very comfortable with the matchup.

I can understand after today's game why you'd be worried about a Patriots/Seahawks match up. The Hawks will need to play a better game than they did today, I think.
Meanwhile:
Patriots 38, Colts 7 with 31 seconds left to the 3rd quarter.

Just looked at the score. New England leading Indianapolis 38-7. Nothing to see here. Back to playing DAI.

And more of the same. Ten minutes left to the 4th quarter, Patriots 45 to Colts 7. Colts are going to have nightmares for a while. On the plus side for them, Andrew Luck and his Colts will know exactly what's expected of them next time, in no uncertain terms.

The Pats/Colts game went pretty much exactly as one would have expected. No drama at all, not much of interest to say, except this: Congrats to the Pats, especially Brady & Belichick. This pair will be getting to a record sixth Super Bowl, an astounding feat whether they win or lose.

Congrats to Katiefrost on the Seahawks win, and my condolences to HYR 2.0 on the Packers' meltdown. If it's any consolation, at least you're not a Vikings fan or a Browns fan. :) I'll probably have more thoughts on this game (and a Super Bowl pick) later in the week.

After the Packers got their 4th interception, the defender for some reason did not run with the ball, but instead went to the ground. Why? It was possible to run the ball and get closer to other endzone giving the Packers an opportunity to add points. They went 3-and-out giving the ball back to Seattle that led to a touchdown.

The onside kick the guy jumped up and missed the ball with his hands having it bounce off his head into Seattles hands

The 2-point conversion the defender made no attempt to make a play on the ball. Had he did that, the ball would've been knocked away

In overtime, the Packer defense looked like they just gave up making it easy for Seattle to go down the field and score

Up until that 4th interception, Green Bay outplayed Seattle the whole game. Aside from the special teams scoring that touchdown, Green Bay made Seattle look like punks. Amazing what 5 minutes of stupid playing can do to a whoie season.

What's funny is that catching the ball was not his job, it was to block and let Jordy Nelson grab it. He's dumb as a pile of rocks, though. Easily the most athletically gifted TE on the team, but he has never developed into the dynamic pass-catcher we've been hoping for at his position because he still does not understand assignments -- after full three seasons now.

I am told he scored a 4 on the Wonderlic (50-pt test). Never understood how people could do single-digit badly on a relatively easy test. Now I get it...

Question: you are on the coverage unit for an onside kick. Your job is to block. The other team kicks the ball. What should you do?

A.) Block.

B.) Attempt to catch.

(**circles B**)

Poor guy.

Rob Gronkowski really likes cats. Bill Belichick trolled him over this at today's (1/19/15) team meeting.

My last cat died a while back at the ripe age of 21 years. Eventually, I'm planning to get another one.

When I saw these photos, I thought, "Aha, what a sneaky way to recruit more Patriots fans...". LOL

Wasn't he the one that got in trouble for doing something with a pornstar?

I'll also never understand sports fans that claim "The other team cheated when their team suffers a humiliating loss.

Some more news on the whole ball deflation scandal (no, I will not use the term "deflategate," for reasons best explained here). Apparently, 11 of the Patriots' 12 balls were underinflated by two pounds, making the odds of coincidence very low at this point. It seems like a very odd thing to do in order to gain a relatively modest advantage, but what I've heard is that ball inflation regulations are enforced in a rather lax manner, making tampering tempting. It's possible that the Patriots do this quite frequently, and this just happened to be the time they got caught.

I doubt the Patriots are alone in this either; Aaron Rodgers, for instance, has admitted that he likes using overinflated balls. While it's lame, I don't think it's the kind of thing that will 'damage the Patriots' legacy,' whatever that means. I think some modest punitive action should be taken, simply on the principle that if there are 100 people speeding on the highway and you just happen to be the one pulled over by a state trooper, you still have to pay the ticket. On the other hand, I think that talk of this 'tainting' the Patriots' legacy is overblown; if you want to put an asterisk next to the Pats' name for this, then you'd have to put one next to the name of every team that got away with a few holds during the course of a championship run.

Having said all of that, I'm tentatively picking the Patriots to win this game. The key matchup here seems to be the Seahawks' receivers versus the Patriots' secondary; I think the Seahawks lag behind in that matchup, and I could easily see their offense sputtering a bit. Still, the Hawks have their defense, and Russell Wilson can beat you a variety of ways; his combined rushing and passing total of 4,324 exceeds Brady's total of 4,166. Maybe Richard Sherman will have the opportunity to recreate this immortal moment from 2012:

This deflation thing is disgusting. It is official; the NHL is the only pro sports league in America with any integrity...
