Is that Matt Damon in the middle?
Why Matt look like a middle aged auntie who just successfully got out of rehab and is getting her life back on track?

I'm thinking of starting a Super Bowl 2016 thread and linking this one to it, if there is enough interest...

While i have nothing against the Seahawks as an organization i cant stand their players, the last 20 seconds of the game showed why, and now it goes even further, pointing fingers at each other, at the coach, someone even said Carroll called that play because he wanted Wilson to be the hero and not Lynch, and even Darrell Bevell attacking Lockette....stay classy Seahawks
I'm suprised Brady was named MVP of the game. He didn't look that impressive to me.
I would've made Malcolm Butler the MVP for his interception that gave New England the win. Had he not made that interception, Seattle might of scored given them the win
he broke 4 super bowl recordsI'm suprised Brady was named MVP of the game. He didn't look that impressive to me.

those records mean nothing had Butler not made that interception

For those who missed it the holy grail of picks

I love how Dont'a Hightower throws Malcolm Butler forward to the ground ![]()
I felt Edelman really deserved the MVP over Brady, with that said Brady did have two clutch drives in the fourth quarter though.
First thing well played New England and congats to their fans . I have to say i couldn`t believe the last play call , with three more downs to play they should have handed the ball to the Beast and won the game .
Sorry Katie but the Seahawks got as close as anyone in ten years to repeating as champs .
Why wasn`t Gronk ejected at the end ? I am sure i saw him throw a punch and i thought anyone who throw one was automatically ejected ? Not just the first person .
Well it took 16 years but Pete Carroll finally won the Patriots a superbowl ![]()
Not enough people in this thread talking about Left Shark

I think Edelman should have gotten it also. He was basically the only receiver getting yards after the catch, he had good stats, and took hard hits. He showed up to play too, jumping up after every play like he was about to get in a fight. And if not Edelman, then Butler who saved the season. Kearse does not deserve it IMO. He's not on the winning team, he had a wide open dropped pass earlier at a key point in the game, and got jammed at the line by Browner on the last play and that opened the door for the interception. Marshawn Lynch would've been the Seatle MVP.
And I say this as a Pats fan, but Tom Brady is not greater than Joe Montana now. The media will try to make him all-world by the time he retires, but he threw a bad interception early in the game, that was all on him. He felt the rush on him and forced a pass on his back foot, and later in the game Seattle stuck to a zone defense and got no pressure on Brady, let him dink and dunk the whole game. Of course he had to execute, but I thought others were more deserving of MVP.
Seattle was classless picking a fight at the end of the game, just total sore losers. Gronk was not ejected because Gronk did not start it. Three Seattle players went after him and I don't know why they choose to pick on Gronk because he's no punk, not as big as he is, he was not going to take a swing unanswered. I think that deserves a fine, and IIRC, its worth a suspension too. You can't start a fight at the Super Bowl, not on that stage. But I'm glad Sherman came over to shake Brady's hand on the last play. That bit he did mocking Revis on the sideline wasn't cool either, but in the end its Revis who got the ring, so there.
The only thing I question about Seattle's last play is why didn't they call a timeout to get the right substitutions? I'm pretty sure they had at least one timeout left and they didn't use it then? The Patriot defense dictated they could not run the ball, so they pass to waste a play to set up for a third down run, why not just call timeout to get the right personnel and run Lynch? EDIT: Here's a good article on Carroll's thought process: http://www.businessi...per-bowl-2015-2
Still think they should have called the timeout and given it to Lynch on 2nd down.
About the halftime show: Katy Perry was just okay to me. Beyonce is still the best from recent years, and Bruno Mars was very good last year. I was meh on Katy Perry and generally I like her songs.
It was a good game, I'm happy the Patriots won and I hope we can do it again next year. Go Pats!!!
Tiawanese animators recreated Super Bowl XLIX this is a must see!! lmao

That article doesn't really make a good case for Carroll being wrong about calling the pass on 2nd down, though it's pretty good on how the Seahawks got into a mess there in the first place. Lynch hasn't actually been automatic this season in that situation, IIRC.The only thing I question about Seattle's last play is why didn't they call a timeout to get the right substitutions? Brady is better than montana as hes the only one from the first superbowl left on the team. Total team turnover with a salary cap. Plus the competition in his superbowls was better. Biggest deficit to overcome in a superbowl.
I would have given it to Kearse. It wouldn't be the first time in Super Bowl history that the MVP went to a player on the losing team.
...it would be the second.
Watching Butler's INT wipe the smile off of Richard Sherman's smug face made my month.
And, as to the question Sherman was asking around New Orleans just a couple years ago, I think the answer is clear now who the better cornerback is: Darelle Revis. Both were shutdown, but Sherman only covers "his side" of the field. Revis covers the WR1. Granted, Doug Baldwin is no world-beater, but do you think Sherman's stats would have looked as good if he had to defend passes against Edelman? We've seen this season that Sherman can be had by quicker WRs, ala OBJ. He might have actually spent more time matched up against the FB (lol @ the Pats splitting Develin out over Sherman).
And, as a nice bonus, Revis lets his play speak for himself. Sherman will not shut up about how good he is and insists he's the best in the game. It just makes him come across as desperate for validation and really trying to convince himself.
Anyway, rant over. ![]()
Bill Barnwell wrote an interesting article in which he tries to explain the decision to throw the ball on 2nd down. Basically, the idea is that if you run the ball and get stuffed, you're forced to call your last time out. At that point, you have no choice but to throw on third down if you want to have any chance of getting a fourth down play (assuming you don't score).
Oh! So I wasn't the only one that was reading that guy.. honestly I feel like if you read everything he said during the whole playoffs there were basically no surprises. He analyzed everything pretty much exactly. The Patriots used the SD strategy on offense in the super bowl, which he suggested was the only way they could win. He also noted how Marshawn Lynch would be running this time though, which is what happened and made it closer. NE had a better defense than SD though so I guess that's why they won.
I am sorry but no way is Brady better than Montana or even Bradshaw . Both of those guys didn`t loss a SB and didn`t have the cheating controversies that Brady`s teams have had . Neither of them played in the flat out passing league that the NFL is now . To be better than Montana he will have to have to win an other SB .
