7-5 on my picks so far this week; not so good. I was pretty surprised by Dallas' big win; I thought this defense was supposed to be awful; did we just all underestimate the extent to which the game had passed by Monte Kiffin (Dallas' previous defensive coordinator), or is NO's offense just not that good? I was also shocked by Tampa's win over the Steelers.

For anyone who wants a useless bit of knowledge (I don't provide any other kind), Louis Murphy caught the 41-yard pass near the end of the game to set the Bucs up at the Steelers' 4-yard line. Coincidentally enough, this was not the first time Murphy broke Steelers' fans' hearts.

Watching Dallas kick New Orleans' ass made my week. Our offense is damn near unstoppable when Murray is running like that and Romo is dealing and taking care of the football. To hell with holes, our offensive line created craters in the New Orleans defense.

It was good seeing Dallas beat the Saints

Remaining scores for Sunday 9/28:

San Diego Chargers beat Jacksonville Jaguars, 33 to 14
San Francisco 49ers beat Philadelphia Eagles 26 to 21
Minnesota Vikings beat Atlanta Falcons, 41 to 28
Dallas Cowboys beat New Orleans Saints, 38 to 17

I watched the Dallas - New Orleans game, and I almost wondered if someone had spiked the Saint's Gatorade...
They appeared really unfocused. It was a pretty embarrassing game for them.

As for tonight? Go Patriots. :D

Yes they are. Currently the Chiefs are leading the Patriots 27-0 in the middle of the 3rd quarter

Nuts. Absolutely Nuts! I could hardly believe the carnage!

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS 41 ___ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 14

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS COMPLETELY FUBAR!

I picked New England with no reservations. SOB. Game week 4 has just been strange. Look at all the other upsets:

New York Giants 48 ___ Washington Redskins 14
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27 ___ Pittsburgh Steelers 24
Dallas Cowboys 38 ___ New Orleans Saints 17

I need time to digest all this. Analysis, anyone?

You know, I was pretty upset when Dallas passed on JFF for Zack Martin.

I still think Johnny would have been the perfect QB to have learn behind Romo for a couple years - they both possess the same Jedi instincts in moving around and making plays. But after four games with this offensive line I'm a lot less upset than I was.

You spend to much time watching football, and you seem to get way to invested in it.

I suggest a lifelong break from watching this sport.

Your bill will be $300. I accept checks, but not paypal.

What kind of crooked advice is that?

Game 5 schedule: http://www.nfl.com/schedules/2014/REG5

For what it's worth, here are my picks:

Minnesota Vikings to beat Green Bay Packers
Carolina Panthers to beat Chicago Bears
Cleveland Browns to beat Tennessee Titans
Philadelphia Eagles to beat St. Louis Rams
Atlanta Falcons to beat New York Giants
Tampa Bay Buccaneers to beat New Orleans Saints
Dallas Cowboys to beat Houston Texans
Detroit Lions to beat Buffalo Bills
Baltimore Ravens to beat Indianapolis Colts
Pittsburgh Steelers to beat Jacksonville Jaguars
Arizona Cardinals to beat Denver Broncos
San Francisco 49ers to beat Kansas City Chiefs
San Diego Chargers to beat New York Jets
Cincinnati Bengals to beat New England Patriots
Seattle Seahawks to beat Washington Redskins

Some of my week 5 picks make more sense than others. But, just how much did "rational" count for in week 4?

OMG my Chiefs just annihilated the Pats last night!

Tom Brady looked like he was just waking up sore after a night of being roofied on the side lines! Today is going to be a good day! :D

Here is an article from Forbes about Football as business. It is interesting which teams are worth the most in hard cash, the revenue they each bring in and their individual operating costs. The names at the top are not what you'd think. Fan love and support are not necessarily performance based.

Speculation over this season's first quarter:  :P

http://www.nfl.com/n...-of-2014-season

Questions: Is it time for the Patriot's Tom Brady to retire?

Should we start expecting more from the Giants?

Will Tampa Bay keep quarterback Mike Glennon? (I would think so.)

Are the Cardinals strong enough to take the Broncos?

It's raining in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the Packers are seriously chewing up the Vikings. Minnesota is minus new quarterback Terry Bridgewater, who is out with an ankle injury. He really made a difference in the Viking's game last week and his team is missing him this week.

Will be back with the final score, but it looks like another happy week for the Packers.

Been out a while (mostly grading tests), but I suppose I can make some picks. Obviously, it's cheating if I pick the GB/Minnesota game at this point (at the time of writing, Christian Ponder's QB rating is 26.0), but I'll pick the other ones.

Dallas over Houston: Fitztragic isn't going to be the guy to challenge Dallas' surprisingly competent defense, and I see DeMarco Murray having another big game.

Detroit over Buffalo: Just a few months ago Kyle Orton was retired; now he's starting. I still think he's better than the woefully inaccurate Manuel (who was probably the sole reason Buffalo lost to Houston last week), but that doesn't mean he gets it done against Detroit.

Cleveland over Tennessee: Coming off a bye week, I think Cleveland's offensive line and running game are enough against the Titans, who haven't shown me anything on either side of the ball.

Baltimore over Indianapolis: I just think Baltimore's the more complete team at this point; Indy's Andrew Luck and not that much else.

New Orleans over Tampa Bay: NO has struggled on defense, but I don't think Tampa has the personnel on offense to challenge them; they won't outscore Drew Brees and company, who I think will get back on track at home against a divisional opponent.

NYG over Atlanta: Atlanta can't rush the passer at all; this is bad news against the Giants, who are finally on track offensively and getting production out of unheralded players like 7th round pick Rashad Jennings and undrafted free agent tight end Larry Donnell.

Philadelphia over Saint Louis: I'm actually not too confident about this pick because of the strength of the Rams' defensive line versus a makeshift Philly offensive line. Still, the Eagles get Lane Johnson back this week; I'm counting on Chip Kelly's offensive acumen getting the Eagles through this one.

Carolina over Chicago: I see Cam Newton having a big day against Chicago's depleted secondary; Kyle Fuller looks like a really good player, but his crippling weakness is that he can't play all four defensive back positions for the Bears at once.

Pittsburgh over Jacksonville: Bortles looks competent, but he doesn't have enough experience or talent around him to win this game.

Denver over Arizona: While I think Bruce Arians might quietly be one of the best coaches in the game, I think Denver has too much on offense and Arizona not enough at the QB position for Arizona to win.

San Diego over NYJ: Not much to say about this one, honestly.

San Francisco over Kansas City: Kansas was really impressive last week against NE, but that might be because NE was just a worse team than we all thought. SF's run defense should be strong enough to prevent what happened to NE from happening to them.

Cincinatti over New England: Through three weeks the Bengals look like the strongest team in the league. NE looks like a mess, especially offensively. The loss of Logan Mankins to trade in the offseason didn't help, but just as significant was the retirement of renowned offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia; the result is that Brady has no protection. Bad news against Cincy's d-line.

Seattle over Washington: When Cousins is bad (like he was most of last year), he's turnover prone. Against the Legion of Boom, it's a recipe for disaster.

So far this season, every Thursday night game, the winner has won by 20 points or more
