Watching your team win in a blowout on national TV never gets old, but Minnesota's not really the rival they once were. I was kinda bummed when I heard that Teddy was sitting out for this one. Not really an accomplishment to beat a Ponder-led Vikings team (without AD, no less).

Still, I'm happy. If you don't win big in a match-up that bad, then something's wrong.

Hopefully our injured players (Jones  :(get needed rest over the long break. #PackIRs.

Noticed there aren't as many weirdly lopsided point spreads this week as last week, so far. Excepting San Diego over NY Jets, 31 to 0. I expected San Diego to win, but 0 for the Jets? I didn't see the game, but I wonder how it happened.

I had a funny feeling I should have picked NY Giants last week.  :P  They are continuing to build on their recent successes as are the Dallas Cowboys.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints recovered a modicum of their dignity this week.  More later.

I'd love to see the Bengals win the superbowl. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, if only Andy Dalton could throw an accurate pass beyond ten yards...

Oh yeah! 49ers FTW.

You know why it's "Chefs", not "Chiefs"? Because there's no "i" in "defeat"!

There appears to be a storm brewing over the illegal chop block by Denver's tight end Julius Thomas, to Cardinal's defensive end Calais Campbell. Arizona coach Bruce Arians called it, "the dirtiest play I've seen in 37 years."....

http://www.nfl.com/n...y-ive-ever-seen

This was the Cardinal's first loss of the season. Campbell is expected to miss between 2 and 4 weeks with a sprained MCL. Next Sunday Arizona will be playing the Washington Redskins. I am expecting them to win that one.

On the bright side, Peyton Manning made his 500th NFL career touch down pass during this game. Too bad the controversy may overshadow this.

Anyone who's been on the wrong end of a chop-block can attest to how irksome it is. I sympathize with Coach Arians and the Cardinals, but ultimately, that play is a legal one and so teams cannot be blamed for employing it. I do not think you can claim to know the intent there, either. Sure, it's possible that Thomas was trying to injure Campbell, but then it's also possible that it was just the result of bad technique by Thomas (he is not a very sound blocker in general).

The other thing about chop-blocks is that you have to execute them quickly and decisively for them to work, otherwise the target can dodge it, or easily just push you aside and onto the ground.

Thomas will rightly be fined for going too low, but I do not think it warrants any more punishment than that, and also doubt that anything significant will come of this.

I turn this game off in the third quarter and the answer is the Jets were plain woeful in all three phases of the game  :(  It wasn`t all Geno Smiths fault Vick did no better .

Halftime: Seahawks 17 to Redskins 7
In spite of an embarrassing nullified TD penalty on Seattle... Careful, guys.

Game over: Seahawks 27 beat Redskins 17

But it bothers me when Seattle racks up so many penalties over the course of a game. In this case, we still won. But Penalties = wasted effort. When we played San Diego in week 2 those penalties added up in a very bad way. I  Seahawks. Be careful, O Legion of Doom....

11-3 on my picks; yay! But honestly, it took some miracles to get a few of those right (i.e. New Orleans and Cleveland). I was pretty shocked by the NE win over Cincy, but apparently Cincinatti has one of the weaker run defenses in the league. Belichick and company crafted a terrific gameplan. NE's never lost back-to-back games with Belichick and Brady; the streak continues.

I'll post some picks later this week, when I've got a bit more time.

If it's any consolation, the Jets do have a plan, according to Grantland's Bill Barnwell.

Anyways, picks for next week:

Indianapolis over Houston: The Texans feast on mediocre opposition, but the presence of Andrew Luck elevates the Colts above mediocre status.

NE over Buffalo: With Buffalo's pass rush, this game will provide a good litmus test as to whether or not NE has overcome its protection issues. I think the Patriots win a surprisingly close game.

Cincinatti over Carolina: Cincinatti's secondary is too strong and too deep for the Panthers' thin receiving corps.

Pittsburgh over Cleveland: I love the moxie the Browns showed in their comeback against the Titans, but their pass defense looks surprisingly weak, giving up a lot of yards to the dynamic quarterback duo of Jake Locker and Charlie Whitehurst. Look for Antonio Brown to have a big game.

Jacksonville over Tennessee: This is Jacksonville's big chance to get a W this season; I don't think the Titans are the kind of team to bounce back from that loss in time for this game.

Green Bay over Miami: Who do you want: Rodgers, or Tannehill? That's pretty much all I'm basing this pick on.

Minnesota over Detroit: Outside of his opening game against the Giants, Matthew Stafford has looked pretty average this season, and he'll only look moreso in this game if Calvin Johnson doesn't play. I think Teddy gets it done in this game.

Denver over NYJ: No thought whatsoever was needed for this pick.

Baltimore over Tampa Bay: Glennon is competent, but I just think Baltimore's a better team.

San Diego over Oakland: What does Oakland do well at this point?

Atlanta over Chicago: At home, Matt Ryan should be able to have a big day against the Bears' pass defense.

Arizona over Washington: Arizona just lost its best player, but there's a chance Carson Palmer could be back next week. I'm rolling with Bruce Arians on this one.

Seattle over Dallas: This game could be surprisingly close, because I think Dallas can run the ball against anybody, but there's just no way I'm picking against Seattle at home.

NYG over Philadelphia: Philadelphia can't defend the pass at all, and I'm starting to think the Giants might be the best team in this division.

SF over St. Louis: Despite the Harbaugh melodrama, I think the 49ers have righted the ship for this season at least.

Indianapolis Colts over Houston Texans
Cleveland Browns over Pittsburgh Steelers
New England Patriots over Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers over Cincinnati Bengals
Jacksonville Jaguars over Tennessee Titans ( The Titans only have one win so far this season and the Jaguars have a big fat zero. But what is the likelihood any team will lose 6 games in a row? I'll pick the total underdog this time.)
Green Bay Packers over Miami Dolphins
Minnesota Vikings over Detroit Lions (probably the most hazardous of my choices. The reason I'm giving the Vikings another chance after last week is that Terry Bridgewater will be back. Vikings + Bridgewater = better Vikings. We'll see, anyway.)
Denver Broncos over NY Jets (No offence, but why bother... )
Baltimore Ravens over Tampa Bay Buccaneers ( Tampa Bay is playing with more conviction, but I'm not sure it's enough.)
San Diego Chargers over Oakland Raiders (Again, pretty darn certain.)
Chicago Bears over Atlanta Falcons
Seattle Seahawks over Dallas Cowboys (Watch those penalties, Seahawks)
Arizona Cardinals over Washington Redskins
Philadelphia Eagles over NY Giants (Hard pick, for me anyway. The Giants really have improved.)
San Francisco 49ers over St. Louis Rams

I might be a little less preferential with some of my picks if there were money involved. Not that it would make me that much more successful. I only got 7 out of 15 right last week... :P However, next week I resolve to be a little more hard nosed if certain teams haven't improved.

Last week: 11-4.

Indianapolis over Houston (gotta go with Andrew Luck over Ryan Fitzpatrick-led Texans offense).
New England over Buffalo (Gronk is back and not a moment too soon, Tom will need him in this game).
Cincy over Carolina (clear talent lean for CIN on both sides of the ball).
Pittsburgh over Cleveland (went back and forth on this one, but passing game will tell the tale -- advantage: Stillers).
Jacksonville over Tennessee (TEN is vulnerable and Jags should be hungry for their first win).
Green Bay over Miami (underrated on D, but I can't see the 'fins putting up many points).
Detroit over Minnesota (DET D will be a tough test for the rookie QB).
Denver over NYJ (I'll be shocked if DEN starters aren't pulled at halftime).
Baltimore over Tampa Bay (Bucs are mediorce at best right now, well-rounded Ravens roll).
San Diego over Oakland (Tony Sparano might not even be an upgrade at HC).
Chicago over Atlanta (similar teams, but CHI is slightly better and I can't see them losing three-straight... though I'd like to).
Seahawks over Dallas (can't trust Romo).
Washington over Arizona (some doubt over AZ's QB situation with Stanton injury, and the team's better side took a blow as well).
Giants over Iggles (NYG offense has gotten going, not so with PHI).
49ers over Rams (Rams D really underachieving; you'd have thought the offense would have been their weakness).

This is a really inspiring story: Cincinnati Bengal Devon Still's daughter Leah is battling pediatric cancer. To show support for her, the Patriots cheerleaders all donned Still's Bengal jersey during their half time display last Sunday.

http://abcnews.go.co...ory?id=25987630

Gestures like this are what I call class. Devon Still was in tears.

If anyone wants help out, you can buy a copy of his jersey.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 33 ______ HOUSTON TEXANS 28

This was a good, close game. After the 1st quarter, I was afraid it was going to be a one-sided affair. But Houston fought back, and if they had been a little better or a little luckier, who knows? As it turned out, luck (and Andrew Luck) was with the Colts. Good work, Indianapolis.
