Funny thing, I actually joined rugby club this season at my uni. Having football experience definitely goes in, what with the tackling and ball-carrying. That fellow looks to me like a "back," the speedier guys in the game. He could make for an intriguing WR/RB, or maybe return specialist. I would think his main strength would be quickness in space, eluding defenders. It'll be an interesting experiment, if nothing else. Ravens star DL Haloti Ngata also had a rugby background as I recall.
So I went 9-5-1 last week, meh. Let's see if I can rebound...
[Thurs]
Pats over Jets -- Here's to another boring and lopsided primetime game. Start Brady and Pats D in fantasy.
[Sun]
Ravens over Falcons -- Had a discussion with a few others recently and realized you can count the number of good Falcons players on one damn hand.
Redskins over Titans -- Cousins is clearly not better than backup-caliber at QB, but that may be enough still to beat the Titans.
Seahawks over Rams -- I knew the Rams' D wasn't playing well this season, but just saw this stat: only 1 sack through the last six weeks!! O.O
Browns over Jags -- Jacksonville is arguably the worst team in the league right now. Newly-invigorated Cleveland team should roll.
Colts over Bengals -- Bengals D gave up too many points to the Panthers at home, and now face better offense away. Terrible time to lose AJ Green.
Bills over Vikings -- Teddy should perform better this game, but that's another tough defense, and the Bills' run game could really do the Vikings in.
Dolphins over Bears -- Bears offense is potent, but the 'Fins just had practice against a better one and performed admirably
. They've got this.
Saints over Lions -- Saints haven't look good thus far, but are equipped to beat the Lions' tough D on paper. Brees and Payton off a bye get my vote.
Packers over Panthers -- Cam is good. Good enough to carry Carolina to a W, but our D is equipped to stop him and Greg Olsen, and IMO, that's game.
Chiefs over Chargers -- H's upset of the week.
Cardinals over Raiders -- H's upset of the week ... 'til he came to his senses and picked AZ instead. Raiders will get one eventually, just not this week.
Cowboys over Giants -- I underestimated the loss of RB Rashad Jennings. NYG offense loses a huge dynamic with him out, and now Cruz is done too.
Broncos over 49ers -- 9ers D matches up with this offense, but it's still regular season, so Peyton will do alright methinks (TD record imminent!)
[Mon]
Texans over Steelers -- Texans' philosophy has been to dominate on D and put offense in position to win. Against this Steelers team, that should do it.
PS -- it's on, themikefest!!
