       Hi guys, I'm not new to the Bioware forums, but I AM a new member to this new site. I've decided to let my old profile die and start anew! 

 

       Anyway, I have been loving everything thing that I've seen of Dragon Age: Inquisition; the only thing that makes me a bit sad is there doesn't seem to be an option for earrings...again   I remember there were people asking for this feature for Dragon Age 2, and I've seen post asking for earrings for Dragon Age: Inquisition as well(though it's been awhile), and there's still no sign of our Inquisitor (or anyone for that matter) wearing earrings. I know earrings sound like an unimportant request, but they can really bring out the appearance of a character! Maybe I've overlooked some videos? Would anyone else like to see earrings in the Dragon Age universe, or am I pretty much alone on this one? To the devs; are earrings missing because they're just too much of a hassle to add, or is just a design choice? I can't lie; when I saw Duncan's earring in Dragon Age: Origins, I was SURE I'd have the chance to buy one later in the game for the Warden...*sigh* but sadly that was not the case... 

 

 

       What are your thoughts?

I would really like earrings.  I think it is a bit constrained by lore, since I believe in universe it's very much an Antivan/Rivaini tradition, but stuff like that does add a nice bit of flavour to a character.  One of many small things that are 'nice to have'.  Not getting something minor that we haven't had before is not going to ruin the game for me.

Piercings of all sorts would be kind of cool. I wouldn't mind giving my female Qunari some facial piercings. :S

I'm a fan of the earring myself. I definitely downloaded some DAO hair mods because of the earrings.

The CC isn't out yet, so we don't know what the hairstyles are going to be, since in previous games earrings were part of the hair setting.  I'd love to see more facial piercings in addition to tattoos and scars, though, and remain hopeful that this is a feature that just hasn't been shown on the half-dozen or so inquisitors we've seen so far.  I'm not sure how many I'd use, but to have the option would be awesome.  Also, potentially gross if you think about the kinds of things that could constitute a piercing.  Bear claw, anyone?

The more things my opponents have dangling off their ears, face, or other exposed surface, the more things I have to grab and yank out.  Tasteful studs are a tease.

 

From a video game perspective, I'm not really sure what we can expect from this outing.  It looks like they're still trying to get a feel for the engine, judging from the mess they call 'hair' at the moment, but who knows?  It's certainly something that should be within their capability in later games using the engine.

I would LOVE piercings for my PCs. :L I was so jealous of Isabela's bling when I first played DA2. xD It sucks Hawke had no way of getting SOMETHING like that. I hate the whole "earrings attached to hairstyles" thing and hope if we ever got earrings we could use them with any style.

In every Dragon Age game there is a character taunting us with their earrings that we can never have. Duncan, Anders, Isabella, Varric. Where are MY earrings BioWare?

I too would like to see this. They could make it part of the hairstyles if they didn't want to add a completely new facet of the CC.

 

At the very least, some of the qunari horn options should have embellishments like metal plating or caps.

 

On a related note, where are Varric's earrings? He had them in the first trailer, but in the recent screenshots he no longer has them.

I'd very much enjoy piercings as part of the character creation, it'd add some extra flare to my characters. 
I think it's most likely that if we got any it'd be earrings, since those are probably the easiest to make work with customizable faces.

Would be a nice little cosmetic thing to have if not a practical if one could make them enchanted but that would require a additional equipment slots for the character/s.

earring e piercing where my favourite customization thing about KoA...

I would love to have them in DAI. I am always a little jelous of these kind of feature who are present in companion and NPC (bigger elven ears in DAO, earrings, Isabela's bandana, Morrigan's hairstyle, Zev's tatoo) but are a big NO for ours characters, that even if customizable, tend to feel, if you can't have mods (PS3 player here) even more vanilla than many of the silent NPCs that are around.

I approve of this idea. Shiny piercings would be nice for the character creation, makes male character more fierce and douchey.

I think I remember seeing character models with piercings floating around somewhere.  The Qunari don't get helmets so maybe earrings, piercings, and horn decorations will fill in for lack of proper head protection.

Kind of a pointless effort when we have hairstyles and helmets to cover it up, not to mention, impractical. I'd rather they use the effort for something else to be honest

I wish they'd kept the scene where Sera has a whole bunch of earrings, and someone says that must be distracting, and she says nope is it to you, then shakes her head and says see music

As someone who loves and embraces piercings, I would absolutely welcome the option to give them to my Inquisitor. But I can live without if I get some sweet hairdos.

I'd like the idea of piercings, but I'd want them to be character customization, because making them gear would be mandatory... plus, if they turn out to be like rings, also invisible, so....

 

Honestly, more CC can never be a bad thing.

Well, you might not be alone - but I myself don't need or want that option (I think most jewelry is ridiculous - some (few!) pieces might look nice, but I don't count earrings among those...an armband, a ring or a bracelet might be nice to look at on the right person, but other things are not something I care for...a watch (yes: Thedas might not have watches small enough - probably not as we have yet to see a real (pocket-)watch in the games) is ok, too - mostly because it is something that is usefull while being pretty to look at...

 

So, while I would have no problem with them including an earring-option (or generally jewelry), I have no problem without it, it's just nothing I care for...ok, probably that's because my taste in women is geared towards tomboys instead of girly/feminine-women (I just hate their taste - from jewels to shoes and *shudder* handbags and make-up - and girly/feminine-women are normally higher maintenance, too (they still believe - however subconsciously - in gender roles, so you have to be the provider (a role I don't want, ever!), give them gifts, pay more for the house etc. etc.) => note: not all of them, but most!)
