Hello everyone,

 

 

I have just returned from my roadtrip with friends, and I decided I wanted to start playing again right away. (Weather is crap over here, atm) I am looking for a fun Platinum spec for the Geth Engineer. How do you spec this guy?

 

Do you go for a 46664 build that focusses on weapon damage, or does anyone prefer a fun power build? I am curious to what kind of build you guys prefer, and why. Any other suggestions regarding consumables and weaponry are welcome.

I take the no Hunter Mode build or better yet, the No Hunter Mode and OnlyUseMeArcPistol build. I find hunter mode underwhelming on him since the other Geth benefit from it more than him.

It's perfectly fine to skip HM if it gives you headaches or whatnot, but to skip it and then use GS makes zero sense, regardless of reasoning. Why not just spec into it and free up that gear slot, in addition to getting some free amps and an adrenaline mod?

I want to use him without needing to slap a Cyclonic on him at least. I would love to keep it, but since I'm using the Arc Pistol on him only I don't benefit from it besides the increase in power damage, overall damage, and scanning effect. I use overload merely to stun most of the time. And yes, the blur effect of the HM does annoy me at times. I might go back to HM again, but so far, it's been working well with and without it. Not much change. The only thing is is that the gear slot is occupied as you said.

Disruptor Falcon (or cryo) with increased RoF (thanks hunter mode) + triple overload + geth turret to distract and prime fire explosions = stunlock and tech combos all the time.

I use the hurrdurricane against bosses.

No turret, passives all weapon damage HM recharge speed power damage then the "look " around mode wraith or gps kill everything in your way

Better play GE without hunter mode, because he got very low shields. (Lower got only Volus, but this don't count when GE use hunter mode)

 

I guess my fav spec, is with turret with flame bonus, and overload with jumping.

All weapon damage, increased speed and range, triple hit overload. The turret is only for tight situations or when reviving.

I run the cheese on him... Venom with a hurricane. Falcon is amusing as well. Lancer and Typhoon work too.

Actually, just about any weapon will work well. He's totally underappreciated.



Gold and under... give the Indra a try. It's a lot of fun! Actually, the Indra is great on most engineers.

Build

 

Fully offensive turret, all damage hunter mode, triple chain overload, Geth Plasma Shotgun, weapon damage passives (except headshots) and no fitness. Everything this platform needs.

I go with that. 

 

Geth turret can be spammed for when you need shields. You don't have to max it out for it to be good for healing. The damage on it looks pitiful yet I get a ton of trash kills over the course of a game.

 

Overload is pretty standard spec.

 

HM you could go accuracy instead but if using Wraith, Talon, etc.

 

I go all weapons passives. CSMG is highly accurate at hitting the head and with the geth passives and the ROF bonus on HM you're doing some serious damage. Overload and FEs give you AOE damage and you can spam both fairly frequently. 

 

Talon, Wraith, Arc Pistol, Hurricane, Lancer, Indra, etc all work well on him. Even the GPR is decent on him but a little lacking on Plat.

Saber, CSR, eagle, valkyrie, venom and GPS are my favorite weapons on him. I occasionally like valiant, viper, wraith, arc pistol and GPSMG on him but don't really enjoy other weapons on him.

- I run saber, valkyrie and eagle with barrage upgrade

- CSR, valiant, viper get operative package

- Other listed guns usually get their respective weapon amps

 

As for the build, I played with 0,3,4,5,and 6 ranks in fitness. The reason for choosing 4 ranks in fitness are:

1. Advanced hardware is the only fitness tree which gives a boost to shield recharge with just the first rank. Others need 5 ranks. So, I put some points atleast.

2. 3 ranks vs. 4 ranks was a simple choice - with 4 fitness ranks + CM III, you can take a gold ravager shot and a plat hunter shot without getting shield gated. Not possible with 3 ranks. Since I play a lot around shield gate, this is kinda critical to my gameplay.

The turret is a mix between offense and defense because I don't need a huge amount of shields from it. The only defense I go on it is radius so it can heal me from further away, the amount of shield it gives me doesn't matter because I mostly use the heal for DoT attacks and stuff.

 

The best thing about the GE is that you can run almost any weapon on him. I prefer the Wraith because Hunter Mode fixes that awful fire rate, but I also like the Saber on him. If you're going to take a Geth weapon just go 66660 so you can get the multiplicative Geth weapon bonus.

I have 3 in turret currently and 5 in Advanced Hardware.  I have run practically every build that is possible on him.  Given that Advanced Hardware gives better than average shields and shield regen rate, I don't think it makes sense to completely skip it for Turret.  I did run 66660 on GE for a long time though, and it is ok, it just doesn't really play as aggressive as one with more AH, IMO.

 

I have considered dropping Turret altogether (haven't run that spec since right after the character came out), but Turret is occasionally useful.

Didn't I see you do a Plat solo with him, using a Javelin?
