No hunter, geth rifle with incendiary, overload maxed, anything, anything, anything, anything.

Didn't I see you do a Plat solo with him, using a Javelin?

Yes, and at that time it was 46664.

I use the same build with the same reasoning as capn. Hunter Mode makes the kit great with a huge range of weapons and I've probably used more on this kit than any other - Paladin, Arc Pistol, Talon, Wraith, GPS, Graal, CSMG, Hurricane, Indra, Javelin, Harrier, Falcon, GPR, Lancer, Saber.

Indra, CSR, GAR or Krysae is what I use on him. Just lately I've discovered that CSR yields better results with less RoF than having a 0,05 delay between all 45 rounds but that could be frames related.

I go 66653 with a Wraith: http://kalence.drupa...24053364!0F8639

The turret is a mix between offense and defense because I don't need a huge amount of shields from it. The only defense I go on it is radius so it can heal me from further away, the amount of shield it gives me doesn't matter because I mostly use the heal for DoT attacks and stuff.

The best thing about the GE is that you can run almost any weapon on him. I prefer the Wraith because Hunter Mode fixes that awful fire rate, but I also like the Saber on him. If you're going to take a Geth weapon just go 66660 so you can get the multiplicative Geth weapon bonus.

Yeah, I like the Wraith on him too.  The Wraith's accuracy plus Hunter Mode accuracy gives you pretty much pinpoint accuracy at any range.  I do a slightly different build from you though:  http://kalence.drupa...24053364!FF9639

I only care about healing and flaming for fire explosions with the turret.  The flamer on the turret does awful damage no matter how you boost it, so I don't even bother with damage upgrades.

Also, if I'm not planning on using a Cyclonic, I sometimes do 6/6/6/4/4 instead.

Yeah, you can run that as well. Considering all the builds people have posted here including skipping Turret and even skipping Hunter Mode, I don't think there's a "correct" way to play the GE.

I do agree that the damage of the turret looks terrible on paper, but I actually see my turret on the killfeed a surprising amount. I don't know if it's actually dealing damage or if it's just a master of stealing kills at the last second, but I definitely see it getting quite a few kills each game.

Sure people can skip HM, doesn't mean I will ever understand it. :)

I would skip Overload on GE before I skipped HM, although I am unlikely to skip Overload.

I only put 3 in turret, because the damage is pitiful and it just ends up getting spammed at my feet when I'm taking fire. That said, Geth Turret is the only pet I put any points into at all because the healing is at least somewhat useful.

Javelin works really well on it, because pretty much the only units who can survive overload> headshot are bosses. Slightly defeats the purpose, though, when I can just use the same on a GI and not even have to waste time with overloading first

You can do the same on a GE or GT. A Javelin headshot will kill just about anything but non-humanoid targets.

Low level mooks die either way, yes, but phantoms and possesed collector troops/captains, for example, require high level amps/ammo consumables to do the same in one shot I think. GE's Overload takes care of the barrier, so that I can save my sniper amps, and targeting VI's for my actual sniping kits, important for a noob such as myself who is constantly running out of good gear.

Not to mention the stagger from overload makes getting headshots extremely easy. GT gets no use from me, as  I feel bad using the Lamer and would rather use another kit if I am going to just kill things with weapons (QMS, for example).

Only low to mid-level amps are required. The Javelin Geth Trooper can kill a Phantom in a single headshot with a level 1 sniper amp and level 2 phasics.

The fact that the RNG store is racist and I only have a Javelin 1 could have something to do with it then.....

Now that I think of it, my Widow X only requires a Level 2 amp and level two phasics to bring a plat phantom down to extremely low health in a cloaked shot (where even sabotage's backfire on FQI takes care of the rest). Same setup on GI and she just outright dies, but then so does everything else because GI is godmode.

Aren't you exaggerating a little bit, capn ? Without Overload, your engineer would be a weaker version of the GI. Also, I'm not sure that a 27,5% boost to weapon damage would lead to better results than a power which does huge damage against shields, staggers, offers crowd control capabilities and allows you to trigger fire explosions.

On topic Kobe, the geth engineer is probably the character  who made me change the most his build and weapons, since there are several efficient ways to play him. Right now I use a 46664 build with GPS but I have also used all of the weapons listed by cato above with good results. I add that if you use him in plat, equiping a cyclonic 3 or 4 is a good decision because he is damn squishy.

Hello everyone,

I have just returned from my roadtrip with friends, and I decided I wanted to start playing again right away. (Weather is crap over here, atm) I am looking for a fun Platinum spec for the Geth Engineer. How do you spec this guy?

Do you go for a 46664 build that focusses on weapon damage, or does anyone prefer a fun power build? I am curious to what kind of build you guys prefer, and why. Any other suggestions regarding consumables and weaponry are welcome.

Thanks and it's good to be back,

Kobe

46664 or 36665, usual specs for HM and overload. I use a power amp IV to make that Overload super juicy, and then usually Survivor Loadout to make up for my miniscule shields. Hurricane, Arc Peestol or Saber. Pretty much of a powerhouse, just laughs at enemy shields/barriers.

That sounds about right- without overload the GE is a weak version of the GI, and without HM he's a shitty version of the HE. Neither HM or Overload is optional on him IMO. The only things that are optional is how you spec the turret, fitness, and I guess the passives.

I'm with Capn. Some weapon damage bonus, I can live without... It's the 20% movement speed bonus, 25% accuracy boost, 15% RoF bonus and increased wallhack distance that will lead to much better results than pretty much any non-grenade power in the game. HM > Overload to me, on any kit, under any circumstance. At least with a maxed manifest.
